A somewhat old Far Cry 6 leak that didn't get widely shared when it was first dropped is getting some attention once again. Far Cry 6 is rumored to be planned for release in either late 2020 or early 2021, something Ubisoft's fiscal reporting has heavily hinted at. The more recent leak has to do with more specific Far Cry 6 information including the game's setting, as well as core features like support for cooperative multiplayer.

The leak comes from ResetEra user Okabe, routine leaker, teaser, and at times, troll. The post was originally made on June 9 and surprisingly didn't receive much attention. Sometimes Okabe's posts can read either as a proper leak or as a joke, so there's a chance it's just speculation. They have, however, been verified as having insider access on ResetEra, for what that's worth.

Okabe's post starts by saying, "I'll say it for the 10th time here since last January," before going into a list of details regarding Far Cry 6. They say,  "Hope y'all like riding horses while riding horses," and  then list, "Tropical-Ish Islands," "Helping zoo's," "Using jetpacks," "Narcos," and, "co-op."  Okabe hasn't posted any further details about Far Cry 6 since.

Some of the details Okabe brings up are more immediately understandable than others. Players will be able to cooperatively ride horses on several tropical islands, with some sort of illegal drug plot involved. However, other details make much less sense, as helping zoos and using jetpacks don't necessarily fit. That being said, helping zoos could mean illicitly capturing animals to send to zoos across the world, while Jetpacks don't really have a possible second meaning.

This contrast of riding horses around islands while also having the option of using jetpacks is definitely curious, but Far Cry is familiar with contrasting native and invading cultures. Perhaps Far Cry 6 will portray an invading force with superior technology against a native community that relies on natural strength.

Far Cry 6 fans likely won't have to wait too long to find out the truth regarding the rumored sequel. The latest leaks and rumors all point to an announcement in July, like at the Ubisoft Forward event on July 12. Questions regarding Far Cry 6, the rumored Prince of Persia game, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, and more are certain to be answered then.

Far Cry 6 is a rumored project from Ubisoft for late 2020 to early 2021.
