Far Cry 6 has been extensively covered by this point, with news surfacing throughout the year. Differences between Far Cry 6 and Far Cry 5, new characters, gameplay elements, and plot points are all on display.

At E3, Ubisoft revealed more details about Far Cry 6 during its Ubisoft Forward presentation. While there was little direct gameplay, there was new information about the Far Cry 6 Season Pass. While most of the focus was on a "Villain's Pack" which lets players explore the twisted minds of past Far Cry series villains, it also holds one other blast from the past.

Far Cry 6's first Season Pass will include a copy of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. For those unfamiliar, Blood Dragon, as its title suggests, was first introduced back with Far Cry 3. Something between a standalone title and an expansion, it used the same map and gameplay of Far Cry 3 to create something entirely new. Taking place in an entirely different timeline (a cyberpunk setting), drenched in neon, and extremely campy, it was met with acclaim at release. While the Season Pass Villain's feature will appeal to many, the chance to play Blood Dragon again or for the first time will also no doubt prove a big draw.

The main character of Blood Dragon is an action hero straight out of a movie like Die Hard or Escape from New York. Serious to the point of hilarity, the entire game is played for laughs and is very over the top. Think the exact opposite of the villain trailer for Far Cry 6: over the top violence played for laughs, not for shock. The gameplay is very similar to Far Cry 3 with more neon katanas and ninja stars. The biggest difference is the Blood Dragons: dinosaurs with lasers strapped to them. Despite their popularity, the Blood Dragons have never returned to the series.

In Blood Dragon, players work to stop an evil plot, and there's none of the moral quandary found in other Far Cry titles. It's a pretty short run that involves dinosaur riding, something some might consider more fun than merely petting a crocodile like in Far Cry 6.

It's unlikely any new content will be added to Blood Dragon; the game will probably be just the same as when it was released, with the possible exception of graphical enhancement. This is a bit of a shame, since the original was already rather short. Hopefully the rumored Blood Dragon TV Series will truly come to fruition this time, as it seems it is poised to appear on Netflix.

Far Cry 6 launches October 7 on Amazon Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
