Far Cry 6 has been fairly well-received by reviewers and fans alike. While Far Cry 6 introduces the player to the franchise's largest setting to date, it retains that classic Far Cry feel that fans can’t get enough of. There are a few complaints, however, that the game does little to differentiate itself from other games in the series, a fact that may not be helped by some of the season pass content scheduled for the next year.

Fans have also been full of praise for Far Cry 6’s new villain, Anton Castillo who is portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito. But players who may be more fond of older Far Cry villains may be pleased to know that they will soon be able to play as one of three classic villains as part of the season pass. One of these villains is Far Cry 4’s Pagan Min, whose past will be further explored in his DLC “Control”.

Far Cry 6's Season Pass Content

There’s plenty to explore in Far Cry 6's main game, from uncovering its hidden Easter Eggs, to playing with some of Far Cry 6's adorable Amigos. But once players have explored everything there is to explore on the island of Yara, they may be looking for yet more content to keep them entertained. This is where Far Cry 6's season pass could come in handy, as it offers plenty of content to lengthen the lifespan of the latest Far Cry game. Included in the season pass are a number of crossovers from within the Far Cry series that may be of interest to hardcore fans.

The majority of the season pass content of Far Cry 6 can be split into two categories, with the return of classic characters, and a classic standalone expansion. Far Cry 3's Blood Dragon expansion will be available to Far Cry 6 season pass owners, which will fit will well with Captain Laserhawk, the recently announced Far Cry-themed Netflix anime. Along with this will be the “Blood Dragon set”, which includes a number of goods outfits, weapons, vehicles and more. But what has caught fans' attention most about Far Cry 6's season pass is its Far Cry villain-themed DLCs, which are set to be released over the coming year.

Far Cry 6's Pagan Min DLC

The first of these DLCs to be released will be Far Cry 6's Vaas DLC pack, which is set to be released in November of this year. Next up is Pagan Min’s DLC in January, while Joseph Seed’s will be arriving in March of next year. Each of these DLC packs has its own name, with Pagan Min’s being Control, seemingly in reference to the dictatorial rule he has over Kyrat along with the player in Far Cry 4. The DLC will aim to explore Pagan Min from a different perspective, where this time, the player is put in the villain’s shoes. This will make a change from the main game of Far Cry 4 and should make for a very interesting experience for fans of the series who would like to see more of one of its more popular antagonists.

Far Cry 4's Pagan Min was one of the more conflicted antagonists in gaming, with his evil actions muddied by a tragic past. It seems as though Pagan Min’s content will further explore this history, as the Far Cry 6 season pass trailer showed Pagan Min enjoying family time before the events that shaped his future. As for the layout of the DLC episode, Pagan Min’s story will be told through a roguelite setup. Players will be tasked with venturing out into the world of Kyrat, collecting weapons and power-ups - however, the player’s progress will be reset upon death. It seems as though players will be battling demons from Pagan Min’s past, further exploring the complexity of his character.

Far Cry 6 is available now on Luna, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
