Although Far Cry 6 has yet to be officially announced, it turns out that the Far Cry franchise's sixth core installment may star Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian actor Giancarlo Esposito.

Following Esposito's announcement in an interview that he had worked on a game that's "going to be huge," Gamereactor UK clarified in a since-deleted article the game Esposito was referring to was Far Cry 6.

The takedown of the article suggests that the claim holds some water, though all should be taken with a grain of salt. An official announcement has yet to be made by Ubisoft, the publisher behind the Far Cry series.

This wouldn't come as too much of a surprise, however. Far Cry 3 starred Better Call Saul actor Michael Mando as one of the series' best villains, Vaas. Then, Far Cry 4 villain Pagan Min, was played by famed voice actor Troy Baker. Esposito portraying someone in Far Cry 6 would be part of a logical progression.

Further, it would also be sensible for Esposito to portray the villain. The Far Cry series has become known for its villains, and Esposito has proven his prowess in acting as villains. Between his role as drug kingpin Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul and Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian, Esposito has a proven track record in playing cold and heinous characters.

Still, Far Cry 6 has yet to receive an official announcement, which could come at the Ubisoft Forward this month. So far, only rumors have indicated that Far Cry 6 is currently in development, including an additional report from Game Reactor, a tease by Mando, and multiple leaks suggesting Far Cry 6's existence.

Far Cry 6 would be joining a smaller launch schedule for Ubisoft, though. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is slated to release around the time that the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 release, though Ubisoft hasn't given concrete release dates for any of its other big-name titles like Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Watch Dogs Legion yet. However, Ubisoft's presentation could change all of that very shortly.

Far Cry 6 is rumored to be in development on non-designated platforms.
