While it has been on the market for over a year, Ubisoft will be making Far Cry 6 free to play once again for a limited time. Although many Ubisoft fans continue to play Far Cry 5 through its story, DLC, and Arcade level creator, the developer seems intent on bringing more eyes to Far Cry 6 this week.Ubisoft has confirmed that Far Cry 6 will be free to play for a few days this week, providing players a chance to try the game before potentially purchasing it while the current sale continues. The Far Cry 6 festivities are part of video games' celebrations for Valentine's Day, with other games like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Final Fantasy 14, and World of Warcraft holding their own unique events. Although the next Far Cry has yet to be revealed, this limited-time schedule could be enough to bring back some fans of the older titles that may have missed Far Cry 6's launch.RELATED: Ubisoft Launches Free Share Play Service with Some CaveatsThe Far Cry Twitter account confirmed earlier today that Far Cry 6 will be free to try for a limited time, and the FPS is on sale to complement the changes. Ubisoft has confirmed that Far Cry 6 co-op will be accessible during this free trial period, and any progress that players make in the first few hours of the game will carry forward upon unlocking the full game. This free version of Far Cry 6 will be available from February 16 until February 20, and it differs from the normally available trial because it isn't limited to just the first island of the game, freeing things up for cooperative and solo players alike.

Coinciding with the temporary price-free copies of Far Cry 6, Ubisoft has also reduced the cost of all things Far Cry 6 for anyone that decides the game is for them as a result of trying the trial. All editions of Far Cry 6, including the inaccurately named Game of the Year edition are up to 70% off until the conclusion of the cooperatively-focused event. Both the Game of the Year upgrade for Far Cry 6 and its season pass are 50% off for the Valentine's Day festivities, as is the expansion, Lost Between Worlds, which was released in December.

An impressive clip was shared alongside the announcement, highlighting different parts of the Far Cry 6 story that players have full access to which may help draw in some regular fans of the franchise. Because Far Cry 6 requires over 60GB of storage space depending on the platform, it may take several minutes to download which may cut into the four days that players have to try the Ubisoft FPS.

Far Cry 6 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
