Whether someone is new to the Far Cry franchise or a returning veteran, overlooking some important details on their quest to defeat Yara's maniacal dictator can happen. From companions and resources to vehicles and weapons, there's a lot to remember when playing Far Cry 6.

10 Not Choosing Amigos

Amigos are a large part of the Far Cry 6 experience. Not only do they provide the player company on their adventures around Yara, but they are also incredibly helpful when it comes to combat and resource gathering.

Finding the right one to match with the player's playstyle is important, as each amigo has its own unique abilities that can provide assistance both in and out of combat. From adorable puppies to fearsome panthers, players have many choices on who to bring along with them. Some amigos are more difficult to find than others, but choosing a companion early in the game is vital.

9 Disregarding Ammo Typing

There are many different enemy types in Far Cry 6. Each enemy, whether in a vehicle or on foot, has a weakness that can be exploited. Remembering anything about ammo, besides how much you have, can be difficult, but using the correct ammo typing is important and can save players a lot of headaches when facing tougher foes.

Knowing which ammo type to use against which enemies is easy, as there are helpful guides scattered all around Yara. Players can modify a gun's ammo type at a workbench.

8 Not Prioritizing Anti-Aircraft Cannons

Far Cry Anti-Aircraft Cannon

It can take up a lot of time to travel around Yara. Some of the fastest ways to get around are by using flying vehicles such as planes and helicopters. Anti-aircraft cannons can be a pain in the neck when flying in enemy territory, and it helps out map traversal later in the game if these are taken out as soon as possible.

RELATED: Far Cry 6: How To Destroy Anti-Aircraft Cannons

Far Cry 6 will prompt players to take out some of the more important cannons at different points in the campaign, but people should take it upon themselves to go the extra mile with them. Taking out anti-aircraft cannons is usually as simple as throwing a grenade or using an RPG.

7 Skipping Bandidos Operations

Bandidos operations can be found in the camps dotted around Yara's map. These operations can be extremely useful for gathering some of the rarer resources in the game. Bandidos operations can even reward players with new guns or Yaran Pesos.

Bandidos operations require players to have leaders and recruits, the latter of which can easily be obtained by free captives found around Yara. Bandidos operations will refresh every few hours and take real-world time to be completed, so starting these early on in a playthrough is helpful.

6 Not Doing Gran Premio Races/Upgrading Vehicles

Players will find themselves driving the roads of Yara very frequently, and having an upgraded vehicle to travel in makes a world of difference. Weapons will provide players protection against enemies on the road and the occasional tank or two.

Unique upgrades and weapon attachments can be unlocked by completing Gran Premio races, which can be found at various locations in Yara. Gran Premio locations can be found by locating flyers around Yara, usually at FND bases or nailed to the side of houses.

5 Not Using Vehicle Pickup Points

Players will spend lots of time in vehicles throughout their adventure. Certain cars can be unlocked and are available to call in an in-game scroll wheel, but some of the coolest vehicles will be found at vehicle pickup points. There are vehicle pickup points for all different types of vehicles whether they be land, sea, or air, so keep an eye out for them.

Vehicle pickup points will allow players to store vehicles for later use. To use vehicle pickup points, players must first bring the desired vehicle to a pickup point after finding it in Yara, where it will then be available for later use. Players can also scan most vehicles with their camera to gain the ability to call for it at a vehicle pickup point.

4 Missing Hideout Network In Camps

The Hideout Network is a camp upgrade that players can build using resources, and it is one of Far Cry 6's most useful camp upgrades to buy. Building the Hideout Network will allow players to purchase fast travel points scattered around Yara.

These fast travel points are invaluable and can eventually be upgraded to house guerrilla supply caches, which provide players rare resources when they fast travel to that location. The supply caches refresh once per day, so they can be farmed for their resources during each play session.

3 Not Building Hunter's Lodge

The Hunter's Lodge is able to be built in a camp using resources and provides players with the location of specific animals. When upgraded, the Lodge can also provide players with unique gear and even the location of mythical animals. Mythical animals are useful because their pelts can provide players with rare resources and unique gear.

Hunting animals is a reliable way to get both rare and common resources, and it's definitely worth doing if you're low. Perks of the unique gear found in the Hunter's Lodge can give you advantages when hunting animals.

2 Not Looting Everything

In Far Cry 6, players will come across endless amounts of caches and loot boxes, and it can be easy to overlook these after playing for a few hours. Upgrading items and building camp facilities take a lot of resources so it is important that players loot everything they come across, even if it seems like they already have enough.

FND caches and guerrilla supply caches are going to give the most valuable resources, but that doesn't mean players should disregard the common resources too. FND caches and guerrilla supply caches can sometimes be hidden and difficult to find, but people can often check the in-game map where their location will be shown.

1 Not Taking Out Traps And Alarms

Whether players enjoy running straight into battle or carefully planning out their every move, taking our alarms, cameras, and traps first is always a good idea. Cameras and alarms both alert enemies to someone's presence, oftentimes resulting in more NPCs coming to aid in battle. This can hinder the player's progression and make things much more difficult.

Some alarms can be armored, meaning they will take more than a punch to be deactivated. This may cause players to be more tactful in how they choose to take out the surveillance equipment.

Far Cry 6 is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Stadia, and Luna.
