Far Cry 5 has a wide roster of different AI companions, but Peaches the cat certainly numbers among the more unusual. Players looking to recruit this pleasantly-named mountain lion, described by the game as a "feline powerhouse," must complete a lengthy but highly rewarding mission.

To begin the process of adding Peaches to Far Cry 5'Specialists Roster, players must head to "Peaches Taxidermy," marked on the map just south of Drubman Marina in Faith's Region. When the player arrives, they will find an empty pen, and learn from a character named Ms. Mable that Peaches has gone missing. Mable will then give the player further instructions, the first of which is to gather up plenty of meat from outside the escaped mountain lion's pen.

Far Cry 5 will then give players a quest marker, which will lead to a group of cultists. Once the enemies have been dispatched, players can access the meat that they collected at Peaches Taxidermy via the weapon wheel, and throwing the meat into the area will lure Peaches out of hiding. Using this method, the player can then lead the errant mountain lion back to its pen. Players should be wary of a ravine which lies between Peaches' location and the Taxidermy, and take a more circuitous route over the bridge.

In addition, it should be noted that Peaches will only go so far to find fresh meat, so players should avoid throwing meat too far ahead. Back at the Taxidermy, the site will have been overrun by cultists, but once they have been eliminated, Peaches can be returned to her pen. The final step is simply to speak to Ms. Mable, ending the quest and adding the mountain lion to the Specialists Roster, while also earning players an achievement/trophy for their trouble.

Peaches the Cat in Far Cry 5's Specialists Roster

Once recruited, Peaches is quite the useful feline companion. Both powerful and fast in combat, Peaches is also very stealthy, so while she certainly isn't Far Cry 5's only animal companion, she might well be the best one for players tackling Far Cry 5 with a stealth-based play-style. Her first skill, Pounce, allows her to silently take-down enemies, while Stalk enables the mountain lion to remain hidden when moving in tall grass.

While certainly not the strangest animal-based quest in Far Cry 5, the mission to recruit Peaches might well be one that players want to complete early so that they can unlock Peaches for use in the rest of the game.

Far Cry 5 is available from March 27th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
