Far Cry 5 is still a couple of months away from release, but that hasn't stopped Ubisoft from detailing what's included in the game's season pass. As announced today, Far Cry 5's season pass will include three DLC expansions, all of which should provide plenty of variety for players after they've had their fill of the main game's setting.

Far Cry 5's first DLC is Dead Living Zombies, and as its name suggests, it will see players fighting off hordes of the undead. Hours of Darkness is the second expansion, and it will take players back to the Vietnam war. And finally, the third and final expansion for Far Cry 5 is Lost on Mars, giving players the chance to go toe to toe with Martian arachnids.

Far Cry 5's season pass will come with more than just these three expansions, though. Purchasers of the season pass will also get a free copy of Far Cry 3: Classic Edition, a reworked version of the critically-acclaimed game that will only include its single player content. If that weren't enough of an incentive, season pass holders will get their hands on Far Cry 3: Classic Edition four weeks before it's available as a standalone purchase.

Unfortunately, pricing information on Far Cry 5's season pass is not available at this time, but the standard $25-$30 season pass price seems likely. It's also unclear at this point how much each expansion and Far Cry 3: Classic Edition will cost as individual purchases.

More information on Far Cry 5's season pass and DLC should come to light in the weeks leading up to the game's release. Based on what we know so far, the DLC does sound rather imaginative, and should provide variety after players have had their fill of exploring Hope County, Montana.

Whether or not Ubisoft can back up the unique settings and premises with gameplay on par with the main game remains to be seen. However, the Far Cry series has a history of quality DLC (like the critically-acclaimed Blood Dragon, for example), so fans do have reason to be excited. Here's hoping Far Cry 5's DLC properly expands on the main game and extends the 20-30 hour playtime even further.

Far Cry 5 will launch on March 27, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
