Ahead of its release next week, Far Cry 5 teases its Lost on Mars DLC with a short trailer. Like its predecessor, the Hours of Darkness DLC, this expansion sees players take control of yet another citizen of Hope County, Montana, and this time players get to control Nick Rye, a gun-for-hire in the action-adventure first-person shooter game.

As seen below, the plot for this Far Cry 5 expansion revolves around Hurk requesting Nick's help on the planet Mars. Players will apparently do battle against an alien race in order to "thwart an alien invasion of Earth," according to the official description of the Lost on Mars DLC. Facing down these arachnid-like enemies, players will also be attempting to restore power to ANNE - "a futuristic AI who represent humanity's last line of defense."

Moreover, it was also indicated players will gain access to a brand new arsenal of weapon and tools to do battle, including the Blaster of Disaster, Hellfire, Morphinator, and Space Jets. Weapons such as the Obliteratorrrr, Taser Phazer Annihilazer, Nerve Reaper, Grape Popper, and Hellfire will also be made available in the main game, with Mars assets also coming to the Arcade mode in the game. Check out the teaser trailer below:

All of this will be made available when the DLC launches on July 17, which Season Pass holders will automatically have access to, though it can also be purchased seperately. While this teaser may have players excited for this new Far Cry 5 DLC, it's worth menti0ning that the next DLC, Dead Living Zombies, is currently scheduled to release sometime in August, so there's plenty of post-launch content coming to the game.

Arcade players will likely be excited to get these Mars assets, as well as the zombie-related assets when that DLC launches. The creativity of the Far Cry 5 arcade is extensive, with one dedicated player recently recreating Jurassic Park in the game. Once Lost On Mars launches, it'll be interesting to see what players can create with these new assets.

Far Cry 5 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
