This week marks the debut of Far Cry 5’s first live event, which is active from now until April 10th. These limited time objectives are supposed to give players an added challenge while exploring Hope County and some unique rewards should they, and the community, prove successful.

The first live event for Far Cry 5 is called “Well Done” and its focus is pretty simple. Players must eliminate 10 animals using fire, but they cannot use Molotovs or the flamethrower weapon. That would be too easy.

There are several ways to set fire to animals in Far Cry 5 that don’t involve the flamethrower or Molotov, from the fire arrow to the repair torch. Each is viable but it ultimately depends how sadistic the player wants to be, and how quickly they want to complete the objective.

In total, the player must dispose of 20 animals via fire, which should only take about 10 minutes or so. Keep in mind that objective tracking refreshes every 2 minutes, so if it seems like the progress bar is not moving just give it a little time.

If the player uses the Ultimate Hunter homeopathic they should have an easier time tracking nearby wildlife. Then sneak up on them (or don’t) and set them ablaze. Some added tricks to help make the task a little easier include weakening the animal before using fire, or using the Fast homeopathic to ensure no creature gets away.

Alongside the personal goal, there is a community-wide goal for the live event of 250,000 animals killed by fire. Luckily, players have already hit that goal so all anyone needs to do is log into Far Cry 5 and claim their prize.

Speaking of those prizes, the personal goal awards a golden skin for the flamethrower weapon, while the community goal unlocks an outfit featuring a black trench coat and a golden mask. It’s unclear why Ubisoft decided to go with these particular skins for this first live event, but they will certainly help players standout in co-op.

It might seem odd that Ubisoft chose setting animals on fire for a live event but it certainly speaks to the tone of Far Cry 5. While the game’s story may have some roots in real world events, this is still the over-the-top series that players know and love, and the goal is seemingly to stick to that.

The Well Done live event for Far Cry 5 runs until April 10th.

Far Cry 5 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
