Hope County, Montana is a strange place. It's run by a cult, the locals have a festival where they eat bull testicles, and to top it all off, it has some alien weaponry. In fact, Far Cry 5 players can actually obtain this alien gun for themselves if they know where to look.

The alien gun in Far Cry 5, also known as the Magnopulser, can be obtained fairly early on in the game. Players simply need to travel to the western part of John's Region in the Holland Valley. Here they will find an area called Parker Laboratories, which is a small property owned by the UFO-chasing conspiracy theorist Larry Parker.

Upon arrival, players will find Larry trapped behind an electrical field. They can free him by switching off the generators powering the electrical field, and afterwards, will be given a few quests designed to help Larry connect with extraterrestrial beings. After completing these missions, players will be able to add the Magnopulser to their arsenal of weapons.

See the Magnopulser in action right here:

As far as guns go, the Magnopulser is quite powerful at close range. Enemies that are especially close to the weapon will be obliterated by it, and anyone else unlucky enough to be caught in its blast radius will be sent flying to their deaths. However, it can completely destroy smaller wildlife (making it impossible to sell their skins) and it is ineffective in long-range skirmishes.

Out of all the weapons in the game, the Magnopulser is one of the most unique in terms of functionality, but it is treated like any other gun. That means players can customize it at shops using in-game cash or silverFar Cry 5's premium currency, to change its color scheme if they so desire.

The Magnopulser is just one of the crazy weapons in Far Cry 5, and it's possible other outlandish guns will be found by players exploring Hope County, Montana in the coming weeks.

Far Cry 5 will launch on March 27 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
