The Far Cry series has always prided itself on superior graphics. No justification needed there. Lush environments, an open, expansive world, and a lot of angry men with guns peppered throughout. Far Cry 3 will be carrying on the franchise torch and promises to be the best looking game in the series.

The amount of time developers have enjoyed with the generation of consoles has enabled them to create incredible looking games. Far Cry 3 looks like it will raise the bar for detailed, open world games.

Ubisoft Montreal, the team working on the title, promises the game will look fantastic on whatever console you choose to play it on. PC gamers, though, will be able to squeeze a little more power out of their rigs to make Far Cry 3 truly shine.

In an interview with CVG, executive producer Dan Hay, talked about the confidence he and his team have in makingĀ Far Cry 3 a great looking game.

“Far Cry is a franchise born on PC, so we want to make sure with the PC experience you can dial it to 11. But at the same time we’ve got a ton of experience working on Xbox 360 and PS3, and for us making sure that they’re on parity with that stuff is incredibly important.

“So we want to make sure that if you’re playing it on PS3 it looks incredible, and if you’re playing on the 360 it’s unbelievable, sounds amazing and looks fantastic”

Obviously, the development team is loyal to the gamers who started playing the franchise when it released on PC back in 2004. While consoles may not receive the same graphical quality, Hay does confirm the game will look great no matter the platform someone chooses to play Far Cry 3 on.

If you have not yet seen the gameplay in action, we have gathered it, and four other gameplay trailers in one spot for your to peruse. You will not be disappointed.

With a return to the jungle, RPG-like game mechanics, and an economy system, Far Cry 3 will be one of those games that people might be crawling over themselves to get into. Game Rant’s looking forward to it.

Far Cry 3 has no official release date as of yet, but is confirmed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
