Released on iOS and Android during summer 2015 in an effort to tide Fallout fans over until the release of Fallout 4, mobile-spin off Fallout Shelter was one of the runaway hits of the year. The game tasks players with overseeing their very own vault, including tackling threats (including fierce hordes of rad roaches), sending dwellers out on adventures and ensuring that they have enough resources to survive.

Since the initial launch on mobile, Fallout Shelter has also been released on PC and Xbox One (in 2016 and 2017, respectively). But according to a new leak, it seems that Bethesda is also planning to bring the game to PS4. The PS4 trophies for the game have now been listed by online trophy and achievement tracker exophase, with bronze, silver, gold and platinum pots all detailed. The PS4 trophies seem to be exactly the same as the Xbox One achievements, including things such as Vault-Tec Architect (build 25 rooms), A Vault for My Vault (collect 10,000 Caps), and Fashion Statement (collect 20 legendary outfits).

Given that Fallout Shelter first released nearly three years ago, it may seem unusual that Bethesda is planning to release the game on PS4 now. However, the decision does actually make some business sense. First and foremost, the game is a huge cash cow for the company, having earned more than $5 million in its first two weeks of availability, keeping in mind that it was initially only available on iOS devices. It's unclear how much the game has made since it launched on Android, PC, and Xbox One but the figures likely confirm that the game has been massively successful.

Moreover, releasing Fallout Shelter on PS4 would give players something to do as they wait for Fallout 76 to be released. In the same way that Fallout Shelter kept fans entertained while they waited for Fallout 4, it can keep them entertained as they wait for the next main entry into the Fallout series.

It would also be a smart way to win over new fans before 76 launches, letting them see what all the fuss is about. Fallout Shelter is the most played game in the franchise, after all, confirming that it has been a great way for Bethesda to get the word out.

If the game really is set to launch on PS4, then Bethesda will likely announce it officially during its E3 2018 press conference. The company has teased several surprises during the event and although the cat has been let out of the bag with this one, that won't make it any less exciting for fans.

Fallout Shelter is now available on Android and iOS devices, PC, and Xbox One.
