Many will fondly remember older Fallout titles such as Fallout 4 and New Vegas. Unfortunately, the legacy of the franchise has been tarnished by the disappointing Fallout 76. Yet fans of the franchise are working hard to bring New Vegas to Fallout 4 through a mod. If the mod is successful fans will no longer have to be divided about which title was better as they will be able to play both at ease. With that said there is still a fair amount of work to go before the mod is ready.

The Fallout franchise is an RPG set in a dystopian future where the world has become a nuclear wasteland. The trademarks of the developer, Bethesda, are present in the game but its highly-stylized 50s inspired wasteland leads to a different experience than its peers. Despite the Fallout series including some of the best post-apocalyptic games, fans have differing opinions about the best title, partly because of the different approaches each installment and spin-off has taken. Fortunately, Fallout 4: New Vegas will bring the world of New Vegas to the fourth installment in the main series.

The fan-created mod, Fallout 4: New Vegas, intends to recreate the entirety of New Vegas within Fallout 4 and will include graphic improvements as well as a new voice cast. A video has been released showcasing the new graphics and vocal work and it is a significant improvement on the original. Many fans of the franchise noted that some of the odd ways in which players spoke have been removed to adhere to a normal conversational flow. This fan-made mod for Fallout 4 looks impressive, but that video does warn of changes and it may run into legal trouble with the team at Bethesda if the mod is a fully-fledged remake.

While Fallout 4 gave players plenty to do, it is impressive that fans are still dedicated to the title and expanding the world. It will be interesting to see how this mod develops and at the moment it looks like this fan-made project is doing an incredible job. Of course, without the backing of a studio, these projects often take a long time and this project has already been in development for a couple of years. With that said, it looks like the mod will be worth the wait.

Fans of Fallout 4 are still producing interesting content, yet few tributes match the scale of this one which aims to combine two games. Many players will now look forward to this fan-made content even if it takes a while to be delivered.

Fallout 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
