The Courier is the playable character in Fallout New VegasUnlike most of the playable characters in the series, the Courier was not born in a vault. This means the Courier was able to explore the Mojave Wasteland and the surrounding areas before the player takes control. Because of this, there is a lot about the life of the Courier players might not know about.

Most of what players can find out about the Courier comes from dialogue options. While most of this information is up to the player to select, there are still facts about the Courier to discover.

10 Might Have A Child

There is a quest that requires the player to meet a guitar player. By selecting the Lady Killer perk, the player is able to ask the Lonesome Drifter if he is 17. After the Lonesome Drifter confirms he is not, the Courier will be relieved.

The Courier will explain he believes he impregnated a woman in Montana 18 years before the game began. With the amount of traveling the Courier did before the game began, it could be likely he has a child somewhere in the wasteland.

9 Has Unique Dialogue With Low Intelligence

If the Courier has low intelligence stats, they can have some unique dialogue options. For instance, when a scientist at HELIOS asks the player what they are, the Courier will not respond the way the scientist expected.

It's fun to see all the ways the Courier can reply to people when they ask questions. Even better, it is fun to see how the character reacts to the answers.

8 Can Talk To Own Brain

In the Old World Blues DLC, the player is able to speak to their own brain. The scientists who kidnapped the Courier took the brain, forgetting about it. It is later taken by the DLC's antagonist. It can be noticed that the brain has scarring from where Benny shot it.

The brain will speak to the Courier, referencing a few of the characters the two might have met in the Mojave. The brain will also tell the Courier their revenge plan again Benny was pointless.

7 Knows More Than English

By speaking to certain characters in the Mojave, it can be discovered the Courier knows more than just English. By speaking to the companion Raul, who was born in Mexico, it can be discovered the Courier knows a bit of Spanish. While it might not be fluent, it is still interesting to learn the Courier knows some Spanish.

It is also interesting to note that when the Courier interrogates Silus, they can speak some Latin. The Courier does this to trick Silus into thinking they are a part of the Legion. It would seem they are not fluent in Latin either, as the Courier does not understand some of what Arcade Gannon says.

6 Uses Big MT To Introduce Technology

After the Courier finishes the Old World Blues DLC, they can take control of the Big MT. During the epilogue slideshow, it is said the Courier releases technology from the past and newer technology into the wasteland. It is good to see the Courier using the technology to better the world.

It is also interesting to know one of the possible futures the Courier can live. It is said after the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, the Courier traveled to the Big MT and watched over the area.

5 Can Receive Highest NCR Reward

After the Courier helps the New California Republic take the Hoover Dam and New Vegas, it would be expected they would be given an honor. The Courier will be given the Golden Branch, the highest honor a civilian can be awarded.

Despite helping in combat, it does seem a bit odd the Courier only gets a civilian award. It does make sense, however, as the Courier is not a true soldier of the NCR.

4 Can Become A Lobotomite

In the Old World Blues DLC, Lobotomites are a common enemy found throughout the Big MT. What players might not know is that the Courier becomes one as the DLC begins. The Courier loses their heart, brain, and spine.

As the player progresses through the DLC, they get their organs back. The Courier will slowly become human again. Depending on what the player decides to do during the DLC, they might have the possibility to stay a Lobotomite.

3 Contributed Greatly To The Divide

During the Lonesome Road DLC, it is discovered the Courier once helped the Divide turn into a thriving community. The Courier would bring supplies into the Divide and helped it get noticed by the NCR and Caesar's Legion. Sadly, it was also the Courier who caused the destruction of the area.

The Courier delivered a package to the Divide, which activated the nuclear weapons found in the silos. It caused explosions and transformed the community for the worse.

2 Caesar's Legion Can Mint Coin In Their Honor

If the Courier sides with Caesar's Legion, they can get a coin minted in their honor. The coin will be distributed through the wasteland and the Legion's territories. It is a fantastic way for the Courier to be remembered for their role in the NCR-Caesar's Legion war.

The coin will be minted no matter if Caesar is killed or if he survives. After Caesars' Legion takes over Hoover Dam, it will be mentioned in the epilogue that the coin was minted in the Courier's honor.

1 Knew About The Brotherhood Of Steel

By speaking to the companion Veronica Santiago, the Courier can mention they know about the Brotherhood of Steel. The Courier can say they know about the hostility towards the NCR and Caesar's Legion, the Codex, and the obsession with technology. This would make sense, as the Courier traveled all over western America.

Depending on the choices the Courier makes, they can become a member of the Brotherhood of Steel. They will reach the rank of Paladin and learn more about the organization.
