The Fallout series is one of the most beloved franchises out there, so it's no surprise that gamers are hungry for more content just 3 years after the release of Fallout 4. Bethesda is hard at work developing a multiplayer-focused title with Fallout 76, but it's a fan-made production called Fallout: Miami that is currently stealing the limelight. The team behind the modification just released an official trailer, and it looks fantastic!

The quality of the trailer below makes Fallout: Miami look more like official Bethesda DLC than fan-made modification, a testament to the quality of work being put into the large-scale project. Fallout: Miami will introduce a brand new worldspace and a main quest line filled to the brim with new characters, equipment, settlements, companions, and even interactive vehicles (more on that below).

The large development team seem to be doing the sunshine state great justice, and is doing a great job injecting the spirit of Florida into the game - Miami even has its own citrus-based version of Nuka Cola called Pop & Chill, a testament to the attention to detail put into the production. Whether it's feral ghouls stuck wearing inflatable swim rings, a Deathclaw successor called the Gatorclaw, or the fact that a Scarface-style chainsaw will be a usable weapon, fans should expect plenty of Miami tropes to be present in the final version when it's completed.

Fallout fans can take a deep dive into the sunny side of things below:

While story information for the modification hasn't yet been released, the developers did reveal three of the hostile factions: a biker-gang inspired group called the Nuclear Patriots, the survivors of the upper-class called The Cubanos, and a group of people who never accepted the reality of what occurred when the bombs dropped called The Dreamers. The trailer itself hints that something big is coming, and that the player should avoid going near a particular building (spoilers: players are going to go near that building). With a power armor-suited warrior showing up at the end of the trailer, there's also a heavy implication that the Brotherhood will be staking a claim to some beach-front real estate, too.

Vault 53 is also included in the trailer, and while its location isn't known in official canon, the equipment of the vault was designed to routinely break down to induce stress on the inhabitants. Given that the above trailer shows a vault dweller repairing items, it looks like the team behind the Fallout: Miami modification is making things as true to form as possible.

Fallout: Miami World

It'll be curious to see how far Fallout: Miami takes its focus on vehicles, which even earned a mention in the trailer. The Nuclear Patriots gang select their leader via 'death races', and the modification's description of the 3 known vehicles in the game seems to imply that gamers can drive them. The developers have even included a 'boss vehicle' for the Nuclear Patriots, meaning players are likely to encounter a vehicle-based boss fight at some point in the modification. The official description for the boss vehicle is that its wheels can go over obstacles (read: run over people), and it can also run through road barricades. Suffice to say, gamers could be forgiven for thinking some non-traditional Fallout gameplay is on the cards when Fallout: Miami is released.

Fans hoping for an official New Vegas sequel will have been disheartened by Todd Howard's recent comments on the matter, but that just means Fallout: Miami can attract more gamers to the sunshine state. The developers don't have a release date in mind yet, but they do release a monthly progress update on the modification's official website for those who want to keep in the loop.

Fallout 4 is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The Fallout: Miami modification that requires it currently has no release date.
