Although the DualShock 4 has had several iterations, it never received the proper Fallout treatment. An image circulating online shows a custom fan PS4 controller designed around the Fallout universe.

A Fallout fan known on Reddit as AdministrationNo3142 recently shared a post of their father's Fallout controller. The controller is a DualShock 4 and the base color is the iconic blue that Fallout fans have become accustomed to. The buttons and joysticks are seemingly untouched, but the rest of the controller has been customized.

Both of the DualShock 4's handles have imagery from the Fallout series. The left one features the Fallout logo breaking through the controller, while the right one features the iconic Vault Boy giving a wink and a thumbs up. In the center of the controller where PlayStation fans would typically find the PlayStation logo, the home button is replaced with the Vault Boy's face.

The standard blue DualShock 4 is a darker shade of blue than the one shared by AdministrationNo3142. The controller has seemingly been painted and is now a baby blue. The buttons of this controller and the touchpad and joysticks remain the dark black that PlayStation fans will be familiar with.

According to AdministrationNo3142, his father got the custom-made controller off of a website and had it shipped from the US. The controller was purchased around the launch of Fallout 4, but fans may still be able to track one down online today. AdministrationNo3142 doesn't know the specific details and can't ask their father because he has since passed away.

Although AdministrationNo3142 couldn't specify where Fallout fans can locate this specific custom Fallout controller, they may be able to find something similar online. One Reddit user who's apparently also a dad spoke on behalf of AdministrationNo3142's father by telling them to get their sticky hands off the DualShock 4 controller even if it doesn't work with PS5 games.

Another user pointed out some black paint poking through the blue paint near the left joystick, making it clear that this controller was painted rather than resting inside a skin. This same Redditor also mentioned that the Fallout features of the controller may be stickers overlaid on the blue paint. Someone else apparently spent way too long thinking the small Vault Boy button was a dime.

Two Reddit users were happy to point out what a cool father AdministrationNo3142 had and the Reddit post became a celebration of his controller and his life. The top-rated comment on the post asks AdministrationNo3142 what it's like growing up knowing their father was cooler than them. AdministrationNo3142 quickly admitted that their father was the coolest guy that they have ever met.

Fallout 76 is available right now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
