It won't be long now before Xbox One players who pre-ordered Fallout 76 will be able to start exploring the post-apocalyptic multiplayer game's West Virginian Wastelands for themselves, as the title's first beta session is planned for tomorrow. Ahead of this event, it has now been revealed that Bethesda has packed in upwards of 150 hours of side content at launch for the highly anticipated multi-platform action-RPG.

In addition to the revelation of Fallout 76 having such a sumptuous amount of side content when it releases, Bethesda's Project Lead for the game, Jeff Cardiner, also recently explained why the action-RPG won't be feel as chaotic once everyone has hoarded a bunch of ammunition and weapons. According to Cardiner, early play testing saw people being more liberal when it came to using up their items and ammo due to it being a temporary session, but he stressed that players will make much different survival decisions in order to preserve their actual characters.

"Remember it is a survival game. So we found early in play-testing that people were like, his character’s going to go away in three hours, so I’m going to use all my Stimpaks and ammo,’ but when you’re playing ‘for real’, you’ll make very different decisions. Do I really want to kill this guy with my one Fatman shell, or do I want to save it for the Scorch Beast, because it took me hours to get it. You do make different decisions when your characters are ‘real’."

Bearing Cardiner's above statement in mind, with such a beefy portion of side content to come in Fallout 76, it's safe to presume that a lot of players will be conserving their ammunition and items to finish the quests before blasting one another to smithereens. Compound that with the fact that Bethesda has also created a system that dishes out penalties to those who kill in unwanted conflicts, and it seems as if the studio has done its due diligence in steering players more toward cooperation instead of conflict with one another.

Taking all of this into account, the sheer volume of main and side content in Fallout 76 definitely looks impressive in terms of quantity. As it so happens, the title even features the most unique voice lines of any entry in the history of the series. That said, though, it will be interesting to see just how players respond to the quality of the wares once the multiplayer action-RPG actually releases. So, one can only hope for the sake of both Bethesda and Fallout 76's fans that all of the game's content will be killer instead of filler.

Fallout 76 is set to release on November 14, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
