Titled "The Legendary Run," the upcoming Fallout 76 update will add a season pass to the game for players to rank up for bonuses like perk cards, consumables, and more than 40 cosmetic items. The setup will be familiar to the battle pass model used in other popular titles like Fortnite and Destiny 2, with 100 ranks for players to climb over the next few months through a mix of daily and weekly challenges.

Season 1's theme is inspired by classic board games in Fallout's signature retro-futuristic style, and Bethesda says that players will earn bonuses every 10 ranks, along with a few special ones peppered in "just if we think a number is fun (like rank 76)." Players looking to save time will be able to rank up faster with Atoms with a later update set to launch on July 14.

Some of the highlights of the season pass Bethesda showcased on its website include the Captain Cosmos Power Armor, which lets players live out their spacefaring dreams in white and black variants, as well as glow in the dark wallpaper for camps and the Appalachian Thunder Pipe paint for Fallout 76's Gatling gun.

The content included in the update appears to line up with what Bethesda may have planned to show at IGN's Summer of Gaming event earlier in June before pulling out without explanation. The publisher's continued efforts to support the game with seasonal content almost two years from its original release are a good sign for fans of the beleaguered RPG.

Fallout 76 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
