Power armor is and always has been one of the coolest features of the Fallout franchise, and the same holds true for Fallout 76. As such, it is no wonder that both seasoned veterans and new players alike are looking for ways to nab their very own Power Armor frame.

Given Fallout 76's MMO nature, however, the task isn't quite as easy as it was in Fallout 4. Fortunately for players, Bethesda has put some precautions in place to ensure that getting Power Armor isn't too difficult. Perhaps the most important feature is that once a player enters a Power Armor frame, it is bound to them forever.

This means the player need only find one suit of Power Armor to stake their claim as a power armor user, as the frame itself can be updated with better pieces as the player levels up and finds improvements to their current gear.

Power Armor Locations

Abandoned suits of Power Armor can be found all over the wasteland, and odds are players will run into a suit of it at one point or another during their travels. There are over 100 potential power armor locations, and these suits of armor will respawn after another player claims the frame, so finding a suit isn't really all that difficult. That said, for those player wishing to know the easiest locations to get power armor as early as possible in the game, Fallout 76's starting area, The Forest, holds 15 of these potential power armor suit locations.

The Forest Power Armor Locations

The above video shows the locations of some of the easiest Power Armor spawn points in the Wasteland. From the very start of the game as the player emerges from Vault 76, the closest potential suits are in Gorge Junkyard and Black Mountain Ordinance Works. Players planning to make a beeline for the suit should be weary of the armor's level restriction. Most Power Armor frames found in the wasteland will have armor already on it that has a level restriction, this can be bypassed by removing the armor from the frame which will allow the player to claim the frame.

Power Armor will no doubt be extremely useful to players as they explore the wasteland, but it is worth noting that the frames found at some of the earlier locations in the forest pale in comparison to those found later in the game, so don't worry too much about finding the right frame just yet.

Fallout 76 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
