Fallout 76 is due to be released soon, and so Bethesda has begun to go through all the pre-release promotional actions that generally comes with releasing a new game. One such action seems to be a newly announced competition that will see one lucky Fallout fan walk away with their very own real-life Pip-Boy.

Announced on the Fallout 76 Twitter account, the competition will run from October 28-29. It follows rather standard social media contest requirements in that fans need to follow the account and retweet the tweet in order to stand a chance to win. The winner will be selected randomly and announced on October 30th.

The device has been named the Pip-Boy 2000 Mk VI and was developed by The Wand Company (a trusted pop culture collectibles designer and vendor) and was initially revealed some time ago. As suggested by the image, the device is meant to be assembled by the end-user. However, it is important to note that it is highly unlikely that players will be able to use the Pip-Boy for in-game functions in any Fallout title, as it does not feature electronic components.

This is not the first time that Bethesda has offered Fallout fans the chance to own a real-life Pip-Boy. The publisher previously released a functioning Bluetooth device very similar to that within the game while promoting new DLC and mod additions to Fallout 4 some time ago. The tweet pegs the competition as a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Fallout 3 – one of the most loved entries in the series – but it also matches up quite nicely with the upcoming release of Fallout 76.

A retweet and a follow really is not all that much work for a chance to win what seems to be a really fun (and, seemingly rare) collectible item, especially for big fans of the Fallout series.

Fallout 76 is due to be released on November 14 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
