Fallout 76 was considered to be one of the biggest let-downs in gaming last year, but Bethesda is working towards making 2019 a better experience for its players. The next major patch is on its way for the Fallout multiplayer game, and should address some of the issues that its players are most concerned about.

Fallout 76's next patch is set to release on January 14th. According to Bethesda, the patch will work towards correcting issues that have been reported by the community, alongside general performance and stability improvements. The patch will adjust Perks and weapons, fix issues with Challenges and quests, and close some exploits that have been making life in the wasteland difficult for honest players.

Bethesda went on to reveal that another patch will be landing shortly after this one, with the company aiming for the end of January. That patch will change up Vendors' variety of plans, as well as tweaking Legendary mods, and continue to make changes to Perks. Unfortunately, neither patch makes mention of any of the game's upcoming additions, so players still have to wait for news regarding Fallout 76's release of new features. Full patch notes will be provided by Bethesda once the patches have been released.

fallout 76 nuke explosion

While these patches are still a little ways off, Bethesda has been good at tackling the more emergent problems in Fallout 76 thus far. A significant bug popped up at the start of the year, cutting off players' ability to access the game's nukes. The developer acted quickly and released an emergency hotfix to deal with the bugged nukes.

Fallout 76 has had a very messy launch, and the situation outside of the game itself hasn't been much better. The outcry regarding the game's Collector's Edition bags was bad enough, but fans of the series were soon exposed to even more disappointment with the game's Nuka Dark plastic bottles. While the game itself will likely still have a long way to go after these patches to turn it into the game that Fallout series fans were hoping for, it's not out of the question that Fallout 76 could greatly improve given enough time, providing that Bethesda continues to listen to community input and acts accordingly.

Fallout 76 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
