Ever since the launch of Fallout 76 earlier this month, Bethesda has constantly been under fire from fans. An extremely buggy game, a misleading Collector's Edition, and an underwhelming compensation offer have all contributed to the shaky relationship that now exists between Bethesda and its fans. The Fallout subreddit is dominated by furious fans who seek proper compensation from Bethesda, and those same fans are now urging fellow Collector's Edition owners to file official complaints against Bethesda.

When fans finished unboxing their purchased $200 Fallout 76 Collector's Edition, they wasted no in time in voicing their anger regarding the misleading nylon bags. This sparked a response from Bethesda in which it offered "laughable" compensation in the form of in-game currency.

Enraged fans began rallying Reddit users together by saying that it should not even be considered, as accepting it may void further legal recourse. The situation is continuing to boil as these same Reddit users are now explaining and urging others to file an official complaint for misrepresentation against Bethesda. Numerous ways of reporting false advertisement have been shown, some of which involve getting a refund.

One Reddit user ignited the conversation by saying that Bethesda's misleading bag advertisement can be reported to the Advertising Standard's Authority (ASA), a UK-based organization that can legally fine companies for false advertising. Another Reddit user, Vaperius, commented on and confirmed the ASA post, while also revealing many different ways to file a complaint and potentially get a refund. For US citizens, Vaperius suggests filing an official complaint with both the FTC and the State Consumer's Protection Office. Australian citizens are entitled to a refund by law, and all it requires is saying "Australian Consumer Law" to the retailer in which the Collector's Edition was purchased from. In addition to these, many more ways of filing a complaint and getting a refund were suggested on the Fallout subreddit.

While there is no guarantee that consumers will be refunded, Reddit users are urging Collector's Edition owners to, at the very least, file a complaint for false advertisement. This stance is being echoed throughout all social media as furious fans felt they have been cheated and lied to, as well as offended by the "laughable" compensation offer. There is no doubt that Bethesda has handled the whole situation terribly, but an apology will likely come soon as it is long overdue.

Fallout 76 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
