Fallout 76 has long been defined by a plethora of bugs that have hassled players and led to fan-favorite events like the Fasnacht Parade being disabled. That hasn’t stopped Bethesda from trying to stomp out all the bugs that it can, and today a new patch takes care of a few additional problems.

Per the game’s official website, patch 1.4.0.23 is now available on all platforms following Fallout 76’s brief maintenance period earlier this morning. The new hotfix addresses a handful of specific issues, including a bug that let players bypass PvP rules and kill neutral players, another that caused the Weight Bench’s Strength bonus to stack repeatedly, and a lack of preview images for the Armor Ace Bundle.

Aside from bug fixes, the patch also introduces “some balance tuning adjustments for a variety of mid-level creatures” to smooth out the difficulty curve for Fallout 76’s recent One Wasteland update. All these changes shouldn’t take players long to download, but the size of the patch varies by each platform a user may be on. According to Bethesda, these sizes are:

  • PC (Bethesda.net): 1.4.0.23 (24.7 MB)
  • PC (Microsoft Store): 1.4.0.23 (1.72 GB)
  • PC (Steam): 1.4.0.23 (85.3 MB)
  • PS4: 1.4.0.23 (1.28 GB)
  • Xbox: 1.4.0.23 (1.19 GB)

While this is far from the largest update the game has received, that doesn’t mean Bethesda does not have substantial new content planned to follow it. Fallout 76’s upcoming Steel Dawn update will expand players’ base-building capabilities by allowing them to create underground structures. It’s likely players will discover new bugs once that drops, but with any luck Bethesda will be able to address those before long.

Fallout 76 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
