Bethesda turned a lot of heads earlier this year when it revealed Fallout 76 would be an online experience, abandoning many aspects that fans have come to expect from the traditionally single-player franchise. While the company has gone to great lengths to address potential concerns such as griefers and microtransactions, a beta test was promised alongside the initial reveal to not only let players try out this new take on the Fallout universe but to also make sure the online system function as expected. Thankfully, Bethesda seems to be getting ready to finally provide details on the beta very soon.

On Twitter, a fan asked Bethesda's senior vice president of global marketing and communication, Pete Hines, for more details on the Fallout 76 beta, specifically how long it would be available for. While Hines didn't provide much in the way of answers, he did confirm that information regarding the beta would be arriving soon, perhaps even as early as this week.

Hines went on an unofficial Q&A session from there, confirming a few additional details for the upcoming open-world title. While there was a little bit of wiggle room in terms of how many players could be in the same instance, Hines confirmed that the game right now has been set up to support 24 players at a time.

In terms of using the C.A.M.P. system to establish a settlement, Fallout 76 players won't be locked into a specific spot once they settle down. While they can choose to pack up and move any time they want, players can only settle one location at a time. However, he did also confirm that a player can create multiple different characters as well.

Even with so little information currently on the beta, fans do know that the test will not only feature the entire game instead of just a small slice, but also will allow players to save their progress for the full launch as well. With the entire map available, it would be a little surprising if Bethesda didn't put some restrictions on the amount of content within the beta to prevent some players from running through as much content as possible prior to launch. Without an open beta announcement, the Fallout 76 beta test will be restricted to pre-order players anyway further preventing many from accessing too much, too early.

Fallout 76 releases November 14, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
