Fallout 76 is an attempt to create a multiplayer Fallout in a Fallout 4 engine. At release, Fallout 76 had mixed reviews, and not many were pleased by it. The game was plagued with multiple bugs, and the absence of human NPCs made the experience more repetitive and boring, rather than enjoyable. Bethesda has significantly improved the game since then by constantly updating it and implementing additional features.

One of the main features of Fallout 76 is the legendary effects present in it. Legendary effects or items are modifiers that enhance a weapon or armor when applied. There are tons of legendary effects available in the game, but not every effect is worth it.

Updated on June 4, 2021, by Reyadh Rahaman: Besides potentially increasing damage output in a plethora of unique ways, legendary effects offer novel manners of eradicating one's adversaries in Appalachia. Not only can one blast foes with storms of bullets, but now scorch, pierce, or straight-up explode them with certain legendary effects. Not all are about directly upping the player's damage output, as some provide convenient features that accentuate a particular playstyle. For these great boons and more, be sure to keep an eye out for weapons with these especially powerful legendary effects.

13 Furious

Focused fire is an important tactic in the Appalachian wastelands, especially when one inevitably gets confronted by multiple enemies at once. Being able to take down singular targets swiftly results in less incoming fire; always a good thing, which leads to the Furious effect being particularly useful and versatile.

When consecutive shots deal additional and increasing damage to targets, it becomes easier and easier to mow down hostile beings with sustained fire. This effect is even better on weapons with larger magazines and high rates of fire, like light machine guns.

12 Executioner's

executioner's effect on a gun.

Pressing an advantage is also an important tactic on the battlefield, and no effect grants one greater ability to finish off weakened foes than the Executioner's legendary effect. This one lets players deal a massive 50% more damage to enemies who are below 40% health.

Having literally any other effect in addition to this legendary one on almost any well-leveled gun can grant one a devastating ally to use upon unsuspecting Deathclaws and Super Mutants.

11 Vampire's

If recovering health while hurting one's enemies sounds like a desirable trait in a gun, be sure to seek out the Vampire's legendary effect on any melee or ranged weapon. The health regeneration gained is minimal, yet frequent, and it stacks while hitting multiple foes at the same time.

This means that guns that do damage in an area, due to explosive qualities or otherwise, can drain health from multiple targets at once to restore more health than can be taken by incoming attacks for one of the most overpowered yet low-key legendary effects in the game.

10 Quad

Quad simply increases the ammo capacity of a weapon that it is applied to. It quadruples the ammo capacity, which is always a nice bonus to have. You can spray down targets without worrying about the low ammo.

However, quadruple is usually overkill and is not required in most cases. It can come in handy when fighting against a hoard of enemies, but that’s about it. Quad is only applicable on ranged weapons and won’t work with explosives or melee weapons.

9 Two Shot

Two shot paired up with Explosive was once the most popular combination that many used to run in the earlier days of the game’s release. The legendary effect lets you shoot an extra projectile with every shot.

When used in combination with Explosive, Two Shot can deal massive damage in a quick burst. However, Bethesda has toned down the overall power of  Two Shot multiple times in the past, but it is still decently powerful, especially in the early stages of the game.

8 Explosive

As mentioned before, Two Shot paired up with Explosive was one of the most used combinations in the early days of the game. While Two Shot gives you an additional projectile with every shot, Explosive makes bullets explode after hitting the target, dealing AOE damage.

However, just like Two Shot, Explosive is not very potent anymore, and additionally, after the recent updates, Explosive cannot be used on Energy-based weapons.

7 Rapid

Another fantastic legendary effect to use, Rapid increases the fire rate of any weapon. It’s good for players that like to spam their bullets a lot, and while it doesn’t increase the damage of a weapon, you are likely to shoot more bullets, ultimately resulting in more damage in a short amount of time.

Depending upon the requirement, Rapid can be used either as a Major (25% increased fire rate) or Minor (15% increased fire rate) enhancement.

6 Lucky

For frequent V.A.T.S users, Lucky is a necessary legendary effect to have. It allows players to do 50% more damage on critical shots when used as a Major enhancement, whereas it fills V.A.T.S critical meter 15% faster when used as a Minor enhancement.

Lucky is very subjective as it very much depends upon the build that the player is aiming for. Depending upon the build, Lucky could rise to even higher ranks, and at the same time, could be negligible if V.A.T.S isn’t being used much.

5 Melee Speed & Power Attack Damage

Both of these legendary effects are incredibly good on Melee weapons. Melee Speed will increase the swing rate of any melee weapon by 40%, whereas Power Attack Damage will increase the damage of one's melee weapon power attacks by a huge 40%.

Players could raise one attribute significantly or find a balance between both the enhancements for optimal performance. Melee weapons usually get overshadowed by ranged weapons, but both these enhancements certainly make melee weapons more usable.

4 Strength

For melee weapons, it’s very important to have the Strength legendary effect. The damage of a Melee weapon is tied to your overall strength, which means the higher strength, the more damage you can dish out.

Strength enhancement will simply increase the strength by one unit, and that is why it’s one of the most sought-after Melee weapon enhancers in the game. Apart from damage, it’s also good to have extra strength in general.

3 Junkie's

Junkie's is a damage enhancer effect that is a powerhouse when used correctly. Fallout 76 has a concept where you can get addicted to recreational chemicals that are available in the game.

Using Junkie's will significantly increase the damage depending upon the number of chemicals you are addicted to. The maximum damage boost that Junkie's can provide is 50%, which can be achieved when you are addicted to 5 chemicals at a time.

2 Anti Armor

Anti Armor is one of the most powerful basic legendary effects that players can find. It allows the user to avoid 50% of the target’s armor when brawling against them.

Even as a very basic legendary effect, Anti Armor provides a lot, which is the very reason it’s highly popular. However, it is to be noted that Anti Armor doesn’t negate radiation and poison resistance and only works on physical and energy resistances.

1 Bloodied

One of the best legendary effects in the game, Bloodied has been dominating the Fallout 76 meta for quite a while now. It essentially ramps up your damage depending upon how low your health is.

The damage number increase as we move down the health and below 20% health, it allows players to deal a staggering 100% additional damage. Combined with Unyielding, Bloodied becomes a god-tier enhancement. Just like Anti Armor, Bloodied can easily be obtained in the early stages of the game.
