Fallout 4 laser weapon aficionados, check out our handy guide on finding the Prototype UP77 Limitless Potential laser carbine that never needs to be reloaded.

The Fallout series has always contained a wide range of weaponry, ranging from low-power, simplistic BB pellet guns all the way to high-powered, futuristic alien weapons. Laser weapons are a ton of fun to use in Fallout 4, but their reload speed and low magazine size can be a bit troublesome. Thankfully, Bethesda has included a weapon in Fallout 4 that bypasses these annoyances, but finding it takes a bit of work.

The weapon in question is the Prototype UP77 "Limitless Potential" laser carbine, which can only be found in one location in the game. Before players get started on the quest to find this weapon, they should know that opening the safe that contains it requires master-level lockpicking skill. PC gamers who don't have high enough lockpicking skill can use a console command to raise or max out the skill.

To find the Prototype UP77, wasteland wanderers should head to the University Point Student Union, located in the Southern-Central area of the Commonwealth, between Andrew Station and Neponset Park. The outdoor area is generally patrolled by aggressive Synths, so bringing an arsenal and plenty of health items is recommended. After the Synths are dealt with, wanderers should head indoors and turn immediately to the right. A novice-level terminal and a steel door will block the player's path; hacking the terminal opens the door.

Once the door is open, the path leads downstairs into the Student Credit Union. Another novice-level terminal can be hacked to open the bank's vault door. Inside the vault, there are several broken and open safes, as well as one locked, master-level lockpicking safe. Once the safe is picked and opened, a small button located on the right wall of the safe can be pressed.

Pressing this button will open a wall panel inside the vault that allows access to the neighboring lab. The Prototype UP77 can simply be picked up once the player is inside, and there's also ammunition and crafting benches available.

The Prototype UP77 Limitless Potential laser carbine bypasses the typical hassles of the majority of weapons in the game, because it has unlimited ammo capacity. Keep in mind that this doesn't mean it's an unlimited ammo weapon; it still uses power cells like any other laser weapon, but it never has an unlimited magazine that never needs to be reloaded.
