Gamers who have ordered the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition are reporting that their orders have been delayed, while some orders are being cancelled altogether.
Recently, some UK gamers were faced with the upsetting news that their orders of the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition were being delayed by retailer GAME due to payment processing issues. While GAME maintains that the delays were the fault of banks and PayPal and that they were working on resolving the issue with customers, many people still didn’t have the game in time for yesterday’s launch. And unfortunately, British Fallout 4 fans aren’t the only ones having trouble getting hold of the game as those who’ve ordered the Pip-Boy Edition from other retailers are raising concerns too.
Across the board, those who have ordered Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition, which comes with a replica Pip-Boy to use with the Pip-Boy mobile app, are being hit with delays. According to some very angry tweets directed at the Bethesda and Fallout Twitter accounts, Pip-Boy orders from Amazon and even the official Bethesda store have yet to ship. Though, some Amazon customers who have ordered the standard version of Fallout 4 have said that their copies of the game haven’t shown up either.
Target and GameStop customers are also reporting issues. Some posts on the official GameStop Facebook page say that they’ve been given misinformation (told that their Fallout 4 Pip-Boy would arrive on November 10 only for it not to show up) and others say that they’ve been on hold with the retailer’s customer service team for a ridiculous amount of time, with one person saying they’d been on the phone for over 4 and a half hours. Worse still, some unhappy customers are saying that their Pip-Boys orders have been cancelled altogether despite all of their payment info being correct and enough funds being present.
In a statement to Kotaku, a GameStop representative said that:
“Due to an unforeseen shipping issue, a small number of orders for the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition were delayed by one day. We were able to ship these items today and affected customers will have the game shortly. We are working vigilantly to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
On the one hand, a small amount of delays is understandable after all, Fallout 4 is an incredibly popular game and the Pip-Boy Edition sold out almost immediately each time it went back on sale. However, the fact that there have been shipping issues with the game for multiple gamers all over the world is particularly frustrating. With Fallout 4 mods and fusion core guides having already been posted online, these fans are eager to get involved for themselves, and they feel that Bethesda and their retail partners should have been prepared ahead of time in order to avoid these delays.
