Fallout 4 Fan Publishes Every In-Game Magazine Online

By | 11 months ago

One Fallout 4 fan goes above and beyond to show their love for Bethesda’s recently released post-apocalyptic RPG by posting every in-game magazine online.

Thanks to Deviant Art user and obvious Fallout 4 fan PlanK-69, each of the 98 issues of the 11 different perk magazine periodicals that can be found strewn across the Boston Commonwealth have been extracted from the game’s PC files and posted on the Internet. For the uninitiated, when players pick up perk magazines in their travels, they give protagonists ability boosts, such as Grognak’s granting of a 5% melee bonus.

As most fans should expect, the artwork on each of the covers is incredibly detailed, and perfectly reflects Fallout 4‘s quirky retro-futuristic design styles. Even the intentionally low-tech hand drawings displayed on the Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor and the Wasteland Survival Guide are rendered with care. In fact, all of these pieces are so well done that they might possibly serve as an incentive for some gamers who happen to be artists to invest in Bethesda’s art book for the game in order to get some extra inspiration.

As previously mentioned, PlanK-69’s Deviant Art page has all of the in-game perk serials, but for the sake of convenience, we’ve compiled them in individual galleries. Go ahead and give them a full look on page 2!

Should the artwork of the above perk magazines give fans a hankering for even more Fallout 4-related art, PlanK-69 also has the covers for the other periodicals Hot Rodder, which gives players paint jobs for full sets of power armor and +1 Agility when used, and Taboo Tattoos—the magazine that offers up free press-on tats for characters. Not only does the user’s Deviant Art page feature the visuals for Fallout 4‘s quarterlies, but it also contains a bunch of different billboards and posters found in the game, as well as the art for the title’s hidden Holotape Games.

Should gamers be looking for all of the issues of each of the magazines listed above while playing the action-RPG, their best bet might be Prima’s Vault Dweller’s Survival Guide for Fallout 4. And as far as other collectibles for upping perk tree stats go, it would also be wise for fans to check out our compiled guide on finding all of the bobblehead locations.

While the artwork for all of Fallout 4‘s in-game periodicals is objectively fantastic, it’s impossible to please everyone, so there will likely be plenty of contrarians intent on rejecting the merit of each of the glossies’ illustrations. Nevertheless, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and if we all thought alike, life would be pretty stale.
