The Nuka-World DLC for Fallout 4 takes players to a pre-War amusement park that has been taken over by raiders. The park is marketed around the beverage Nuka-Cola, including six themed areas within the property: the Dry Rock Gulch, Galactic Zone, Safari Adventure, Kiddie Kingdom, the Bottling Plant, and Nuka-Town USA. What fans may quickly notice is that Nuka-World is like the real-life Disney World, and not just because of their names.

Like Disney World's Imagineers behind the rides and ideas that fill each park, Nuka-World has Beverageers who both make Nuka-Cola flavors and also work on the parks. Some obvious commonalities are also in the theme parks themselves, with Safari Adventure being much like Animal Kingdom and Nuka-Town USA being like Disney's Main Street USA. This is just the tip of the iceberg, as Nuka-World is the Disney World of the Fallout universe.

Dry Rock Gulch and Frontierland

Dry Rock Gulch park.

Dry Rock Gulch is a western-themed park in Nuka-World complete with mines, cowboy hats, and giddy-up buttercups. Its attractions include the Dry Rock Gulch Theater, Main Street, Ol' Sugartop, Doc Phosphate's Saloon, and Mad Mulligan's Minecart Coaster. Its decor resembles Disney World's Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom, which was built with a similar western theme in mind. The attractions in Disney World's Frontierland are Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Tom Sawyer's Island, and the Country Bear Jamboree.

Mad Mulligan's Minecart Coaster is comparable to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom, since the seating on their roller coaster is nearly identical to resemble mine carts and both go through a mine with animatronics. However, the same is true for Thunder Mountain. Even the line to Mad Mulligan's Coaster is much like the line to Big Thunder Mountain in terms of decor.

The Galactic Zone and Tomorrowland

Nuka-World's Galactic Zone is all about the future, robots, and space travel. Its attractions include the Nuka-Galaxy coaster, RobCo Battlezone, the Starlight Interstellar Theater, Star Market, Vault-Tec Among the Stars tour, and Starport Nuka. Like Dry Rock Gulch, much of its themes are similar to a section of Disney's Magic Kingdom: Tomorrowland, which is also all about space and the future. Tomorrowland's attractions are Space Mountain, the Carousel of Progress, Speedway, Astro Orbiter, the Laugh Floor, and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

The Galactic Zone's biggest ride is the Nuka-Galaxy Coaster, similar to Space Mountain as both blast their riders into space. Nuka-World's Starlight Interstellar Theater is almost identical to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Both have their guests sit in vehicles while watching old films and eating food.

Safari Adventure, Nuka-Town USA, and Animal Kingdom/Main Street

Safari Adventure is a Nuka-World park that is much like Disney's Animal Kingdom. Both are a combination of a zoo and amusement park. Safari Adventure has a giant tree that players can explore, and Animal Kingdom's best-known symbol is the large tree in the center of the park. Additionally, Cappy's treehouse is similar to an attraction in Magic Kingdom's Adventureland section.

Nuka-Town USA is a blatant reference to Mainstreet USA in the Magic Kingdom. Fans have seen Fizztop Grille as a reference to Disneyland's Big Thunder Ranch, and there is a large building that takes the place of Cinderella's castle in Disney World. Even the quest that reveals Bradburton's head being preserved under the park is a reference to the urban legend of Walt Disney's head being preserved.

Other Comparisons

Fans have compared Nuka-World's Kiddie Kingdom to the Fantasyland section of Magic Kingdom, but unlike some other examples, the theme of magic and fantasy is the only real comparison. Many think that the Bottling Plant is the outlier for comparisons, but the World of Refreshment boat ride is Disney-esque. The slow boat rides go over the history of Nuka-Cola with animatronics, much like the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland. Meanwhile, the boat ride is similar to many rides in Disney parks such as Small World.

One attraction in Nuka-World that exists outside the theme parks is the Grandchester Mystery Mansion, which has a lot in common with Disney's Haunted Mansion ride. Another thing outside the theme parks is a monorail, which is exactly like the monorail to enter Magic Kingdom. Even the hidden Cappy contest in Nuka-World is a reference to how Disney World has hidden Mickeys that fans can keep an eye out for.

Fallout 4 is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
