Just one day into Fallout 4's release, gamers have discovered that there's a unique glitch with a complex series of steps that can generate unlimited caps.

Caps, the currency in Fallout 4 and all other entries to the series, can sometimes be hard to come by. While it's possible for gamers to earn what they need via salvaging and selling objects, a much easier way to do it has emerged in the form of a glitch.

The Fallout 4 glitch requires a series of complex steps in order to complete it, and according to gamers, it only works in certain situations. Bethesda previously stated that the notorious glitches in The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim would help them to eliminate such problems in Fallout 4, but it looks like some still made it through.

To orchestrate the glitch, players need to go to a vendor who sells ammunition. Once the sales screen is open, they then purchase all of the ammunition the vendor sells of a single type. Gamers then sell back just one bullet of the ammunition they just bought. If the glitch is executed successfully, players can then sell back every piece of the ammunition they just purchased, but one piece will still remain in their inventory, which can be resold over and over again for caps. Gamers can do this for as long as they wish, meaning they can walk out with as many caps as they want.

Whether or not this means that players will always have one piece of ammunition left while actually firing a weapon remains unknown. If so, Bethesda will undoubtedly fix it very quickly, as having unlimited ammo would break the game much more than infinite caps. Bethesda's prior Elder Scrolls and Fallout titles have had glitches to duplicate items and currency, but in this day and age of rapid-fire patches, this one probably won't last. Even if they do fix it, however, gamers can use Fallout 4 console commands to enter cheats to add massive quantities of ammunition and caps to their inventory.

Fallout 4 has received extremely positive reviews, and even the most dedicated gamers undoubtedly have hundred of hours of gameplay left before they dig fully into the game's depths. Hidden secrets like the long list of names that Codsworth can call players by are just being discovered, so more is bound to come.
