Reddit user j3nl0bh discovers an Easter Egg hidden in Fallout 4‘s Far Harbor expansion that appears to be a reference to the Wyatt Family stable from WWE.
It should come as no surprise that Fallout 4‘s new Far Harbor expansion is, like the main game, stuffed full of Easter Eggs. Reddit user j3nl0bh has discovered one such Easter Egg in the Far Harbor expansion that is a not-so-subtle nod to a professional wrestling stable in the WWE: The Wyatt Family.
In Fallout 4‘s Far Harbor expansion there exists an area called Rock Point Camp. Players that visit Rock Point Camp will find some Holotapes that feature a man named Bray Husky giving instructions to three other men named Rowan, Braun, and Luke. In WWE, the names of the Wyatt Family members are Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan, Braun Strowman, and Luke Harper, making it clear that Bethesda is referencing the group with this particular Easter Egg.
Like the Cheers Easter Egg in Fallout 4, this Wyatt Family Easter Egg in the Far Harbor expansion has some added depth for the hardcore fans. For example, the man talking in the Holotapes is named Bray Husky, and as some WWE fans will recall, the original ring name of Bray Wyatt when he first debuted in the company was Husky Harris.
With Far Harbor featuring 20 hours of content, there’s likely many other Easter Eggs left to be found in the game. Besides this WWE Easter Egg, fans have also discovered Easter Eggs referencing other pop culture icons, including a reference to the Titanic, complete with a skeleton Rose and Jack floating on a door in Maine’s ice cold waters.
Movie references like the Titanic one in Far Harbor seem to be one of the more popular Easter Eggs that developers hide in their games. Fallout 4 had its fair share of film nods, including countless references to Blade Runner, in addition to a clever Alien Easter Egg. Considering this, one has to imagine that Far Harbor probably has some more film Easter Eggs as well.
The Easter Eggs Bethesda adds to its games help to give the titles a little more charm, and serve to amuse the fans of whatever Bethesda is referencing. Hopefully WWE fans will be able to appreciate this Wyatt Family Easter Egg in Fallout 4‘s Far Harbor expansion, and maybe there is even more WWE-centric Easter Eggs to discover in Fallout 4‘s latest DLC. It’s certainly possible, especially when one considers that there are still a few Fallout 4 Easter Eggs that no one has found yet.
Fallout 4 and the Far Harbor expansion are both available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
