Days ahead of its release, playtesters confirm that there's over 20 hours of content for players to work through in the next Fallout 4 expansion, Far Harbor.

This week, vault dwellers will be able to get their hands on Far Harbor, the final piece of DLC currently scheduled to be released for Fallout 4. Ahead of it being made available, some playtesters have taken to Reddit to share some information and impressions based on their time with the expansion.

Unfortunately, these users seemed more concerned with sending spoilers to other users on the Fallout subreddit via direct message. However, armed with the knowledge that playtesters were active on the site, WCCFtech sought them out and managed to get some details about the content most players will be able to access later this week.

According to the site, it will take 20-22 hours to visit every map marker on the new island that will act as the setting for this expansion. However, that figure doesn't include the secret locations that apparently even the playtester was yet to discover.

Another playtester noted that the main quest was 'actually pretty short,' but stated that there were lots of side quests and other activities to flesh things out. Like the first source, this respondent had not completed all the content that's included in Far Harbor.

A third playtester had spent three days with the expansion, and had apparently managed to complete everything in that time. Based on their comments, there's masses of content included in Far Harbor — and players will be pleased to know that dialog options are improved, and there are some great quest rewards on offer.

It's interesting to hear these comments from playtesters who are apparently familiar with the content. However, the information at hand has to be taken with a pinch of salt, given that these Reddit users haven't provided any tangible proof that they were indeed employed by Bethesda to put the expansion through its paces.

That said, the Far Harbor DLC being large and full of content certainly matches up with what we've been hearing ahead of its release. Earlier this year, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard stated that the expansion would be somewhere between the size of Skyrim DLC Dawnguard and Oblivion DLC The Shivering Isles.

In a few days, fans will be able to see for themselves just how much content is included in Far Harbor. The expansion is the last piece of announced content set to be added on to Fallout 4 — but given the enormous popularity of the game, it remains to be seen whether Bethesda has more up its sleeve.

Fallout 4 is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The Far Harbor expansion is set to release on May 19.
