Developer and publisher Bethesda announces that more content for Fallout 4 is imminent, as the post-apocalyptic RPG’s expansion materials are “not far off”.
Hot on the heels of yesterday’s 1.3 Update patch for PS4 and Xbox One, Bethesda has now taken to its official Twitter account to tease that an announcement for Fallout 4‘s add-ons will be coming soon. Although the studio didn’t delve into specific details about the actual contents regarding the game’s Season Pass and DLC, Bethesda did say that it thought fans would be “excited” for what’s to come.
Not only did Bethesda mention the impending arrival of Fallout 4‘s expansion packs, but it was also revealed that developers would be giving the open world title’s Survival mode a “complete overhaul”. Of course, like the DLC, the company failed to provide any concrete evidence of what would be done to bring updates to the mode.
We know you’re ready to learn what’s coming for Fallout 4 DLC. We’re not far off, and we think you’ll be excited.— BethesdaGameStudios (@BethesdaStudios) February 11, 2016
We’re also doing a complete overhaul of Fallout 4 Survival mode. Food, sleep, diseases, danger and more. Stay tuned.— BethesdaGameStudios (@BethesdaStudios) February 11, 2016
While the above tweets provide a light at the end of the tunnel for Fallout 4 fans anxiously awaiting fresh adventures amongst the Boston Commonwealth Wasteland’s landmarks, all we know for sure about the DLC is that if fans buy the Season Pass, it’ll cost $30 in total, for a savings of $10. Given the explanation for the listed price of everything included, it’s likely that there will be two separate expansions that could be bought à la carte for $20, but at this point it’s just conjecture since there’s really no clear indication as to what will be provided in terms of actual content.
Not long after Fallout 4 released in November of last year, fans went exploring the more unconventional areas of the game’s world looking for ocean floor secrets, and anything that might uncover what Bethesda has in store for fans on the DLC front. Considering the discoveries of a harpoon weapon and other unused assets for an undisclosed underwater quest of some kind called “20 Leagues Under the Sea”, it’s still entirely possible for the studio to include the cut content in Fallout 4‘s forthcoming DLC update. Nevertheless, it’s really anyone’s guess as to what the developer has in mind for the action-RPG’s expansion materials.
Obviously, any statement regarding Fallout 4’s Season Pass is exciting, but a lot of fans are also still waiting on an additional information about the release of the official Garden of Eden Creation Kit, or GECK, for short. After all, a couple of weeks have passed since Bethesda said that it would be giving console mod news in an announcement soon, but nary a word has been shared as of yet. With any luck, the studio will bundle all of the aforementioned particulars — that is, details involving the Season Pass, Survival mode, and mod tools — into one bulletin within the month so the fans have a solid idea of Fallout 4‘s post-launch plans.
