What Bethesda Softworks lacks in prolificness, they make up for with quality video games. Although their only published release of 2015 has thus far been the MachineGames developed first-person shooter throwback Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, early reviews of the game have generally been favorable.

That said, die-hards are still hungry for the announcement of an even more sumptuous Bethesda release. And, hopefully, the newest Wolfenstein's featuring of Fallout, Skyrim, and Doom easter eggs is no mere nod to its predecessors, but a possible bid to fuel more hype for potential titles at Bethesda's first E3 press conference.

Sure, there are many great Bethesda games that could be revealed to fans, such as Dishonored 2 or Rage 2, but ever since its confirmation back in 2008, gamers have been clamoring for anything related to the next installment of the company's popular post-apocalyptic series, Fallout 4. And as luck would have it, recent rumors have revealed that gameplay for Fallout 4 might be shown behind closed doors at this year's E3 conference.

According to German gaming site PC Games, who received the information anonymously, Bethesda is to eschew a formal, public E3 conference announcement and preview a 20-30 minute demo to invited members of the press. Obviously, without official sources, the veracity of these details are spurious at best. Not to mention, hearsay of a private screening for the game has been reported before, like in 2013 when it was said that Bethesda was showing Fallout 4 to media outlets at E3. Later, of course, these claims were proven to be false.

After countless fabrications, it's hard to take any news about Fallout 4 seriously. Unfortunately, ever since the game's announcement, conjecture and canards have continued unabated. For instance, fake Fallout 4 teaser sites have cropped up again and again. Plus, there's the never-ending, albeit rational speculation of Bethesda using Boston as its next setting.

Although such guesswork can be overwhelming, one thing that can be gleaned from this is the fact that gamers love Fallout along with its myriad raiders, monsters, and super mutants, and ultimately crave another release. And while Fallout: New Vegas is still a solid foray into the virtual wastes of Nevada and full of replay value, fans need a title in the series that excels beyond what the previous entries have done, much in the way that Skyrim improved upon Oblivion.

With any hope, Bethesda will soon put an end to the perpetual postulation with an announcement about Fallout 4 at this year's E3.

Excited about the possibility of a Fallout 4 announcement from Bethesda? Do you think we'll actually get any details about the game other than more vague speculation? If so, what kind of new features are you hoping the game includes?
