One Fallout 4 fan creates an absolutely massive battle using the post-apocalyptic RPG's assets to have 30,000 Automatron robots fight the Commonwealth.

Modder, YouTuber, and Fallout 4 fan Cosmic Contrarian has created a bevy of battle videos for Bethesda's open world title in the past, but his most recent work easily trumps any of the previous efforts he's made, at least in terms of sheer size, scale, and ambition. By using materials from the game's Automatron DLC, Cosmic Contrarian pits roughly 30,000 differently customized robots against the entirety of the human population in the Commonwealth Wasteland, and the results are nothing short of staggering.

While the humans in the conflict have top-tier weaponry, their attempt for survival in the war between robots and mankind is not without its complications. After all, the normal versions of Fallout 4's Sentrybots and Assaultrons have been given upgrades with powerful fireballs, lasers, as well as thick shells of armor.

As seen in the clip below, Cosmic Contrarian's newest Fallout 4 video clocks in at almost 27 minutes total, with each portion being chock-full of turrets, Gatling guns, seemingly endless enemy waves, and of course, earth-shaking explosions. If one compares the YouTuber's most recent footage with any of his older battles, it would be easy to see that his editing skills have vastly improved, for most of the action segments sync up perfectly with the electronic soundtrack provided by Irving Force. Plus, Cosmic Contrarian's camera placement in the areas is a lot more thought-out, as a lot of the portions of the video have an almost cinematic quality to them.

Although the Automatron robots versus the Commonwealth video above is Cosmic Contrarian's best battle so far—he even says so in the clip's comment section on YouTube—it's not as if his prior creations aren't without merit. As many might agree, his most engaging video may be the one that determines which enemy is the hardest in Fallout 4, by putting Deathclaws, Ghouls, Super Mutants, and a variety of bad guy classes against one another for Wasteland supremacy.

Of course, taste is subjective, especially when it comes to pop culture, so some folks might enjoy Cosmic Contrarian's mods that involve the mashups of Fallout 4 and various fan-favorites of film. For instance, his Star Wars battle is mighty popular, as are the set-pieces he made to resemble the clashes found in The Lord of the Rings and the Terminator movies.

According to Cosmic Contrarian, he's already started to work on his next Fallout 4 video, as he proclaims, "The ideas are flowing!" Once the YouTuber has completed the forthcoming project, it's safe to presume that he will eventually use the post-apocalyptic RPG's Far Harbor DLC as fodder for future ventures once Bethesda releases the add-on.

Fallout 4 is out now and is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
