A Fallout 4 player has encountered a strange glitch, which allows them to perform an act that resembles a Fatality from the Mortal Kombat games. The combat in Fallout 4 is generally considered to be a series-high, but this bug shows that not everything is perfect with the feature.

Gamers who have played any Bethesda game will have experienced many odd bugs like this, and Fallout 4 is certainly no exception in this regard. It might not be the buggiest Fallout game ever, with that title going to Fallout 76, but there have been many weird clips with the physics engine acting in ways it definitely wasn't designed to. The Fallout 4 player who fought a Gunner without a head is the perfect example of this. Interestingly, the enemy in this clip is a Gunner, too, so it seems as though they're particularly susceptible to interesting physics bugs in the game.

The bizarre clip was posted to Reddit by user Thiiccness. In the video, they fire two shots at an enemy Gunner Captain. The first shot sends them flying into the air, and the second blows their head off. There's definitely a comparison to be made between this brutal Fallout 4 kill and the Fatalities that are featured in the Mortal Kombat series. It's so bizarre that it could even be compared to human clay target shooting. Other users in the thread certainly felt the Mortal Kombat reference was apt, describing the situation as a "flawless victory."

It's unclear what could even cause this type of bug in Fallout 4. The kill cam itself doesn't follow the bullet, and the NPC is high in the sky before it's clear exactly what the situation is. However, it's likely that they were stuck in a piece of geometry prior to the gunshot, and the game wasn't fond of the first bullet hitting, instead just flinging the NPC into the Heavens. Bugged geometry is commonly the cause of bugs like these, especially in Bethesda games, so if there was one likely explanation, it's that.

There were bugs in Fallout 3, there are bugs in Fallout 4, and there will definitely be bugs in Fallout 5. It truly seems to be the way of things with Bethesda games, something that players have to come to accept. When they're charming, as this clip is, they can even improve the experience. While it's unclear exactly what Bethesda has cooking with Fallout 5, there are plenty out there that will be very glad to see janky physics bugs make a return.

Fallout 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
