Fallout 3, like Bethesda's other games, is a massive open world experience filled to the brink with memorable characters and unique interactions players can have with these characters. Sometimes Fallout 3 characters will react differently to players based on how they look, making certain scenes and dialogue in the game especially rare to see. This is the case for one particular Fallout 3 scene that was pointed out on the GamingDetails subreddit.

As pointed out by Reddit user Gluttonforcrime, citing the Fallout 3 wiki, there is a unique scene players can witness when interacting with a ghoul NPC named Griffon. If Fallout 3 players are wearing a wig when they talk to Griffon, they have the option of pointing out how the two of them have similar hairstyles. They'll say, "Who does your hair? It looks rather similar to mine, doesn't it?" Griffon will then reply, "Aheh. Um...yeah, look at that. We practically have the same haircut. What are the chances of that? Aheh."

For Fallout 3 fans who don't remember Griffon, he is a ghoul NPC that can be found in the Museum of History. The wig he has on his head distinguishes him from the other ghouls in the game. He exploits his fellow ghouls by essentially acting as a snakeoil salesman, selling irradiated water in special Aqua Pura bottles and claiming that it will heal ghouls of their ailments. The fake hair on Griffon's head is supposed to be evidence of this, which is why he's nervous when talking to a Fallout 3 player that's also wearing a wig.

It's not necessarily likely that Fallout 3 players will be exploring the Capital Wasteland with a wig on, as they will likely be wearing more protective headgear instead. After all, Fallout 3 enemies are incredibly dangerous, and so players need to be prepared if they hope to survive against hostile raiders or the Super Mutants that roam the open world. So while this unique interaction with Griffon is rather minor in the grand scheme of things, it's still likely one of the rarest scenes in the game.

Anyone itching to return to Fallout 3 to look for other rare scenes like this should note that the game is available to play on modern Xbox consoles thanks to the backward compatibility program. And not only that, but Fallout 3 is available on Xbox Game Pass as well, making it especially easy for nostalgic players to make another trip through the Capital Wasteland.

Some fans may prefer a Fallout 3 remaster instead, but no plans to that effect have been announced at the time of this writing.

Fallout 3 is available now for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
