For a time, Fall Guys was all that gamers were talking about, with it being streamed by some of the biggest names on both Twitch and YouTube shortly after its release. A smart launch strategy with PlayStation Plus was paired with an adorable aesthetic and some clever game concepts, creating an atmosphere that players of all ages could enjoy. As the game grew in popularity, so too did its crossovers with other properties, as everything from the Doom Slayer to the Rot from Kena: Bridge of Spirits have come to the game.

While Fall Guys may not be as overwhelmingly popular as it once was, the hype would instantly return if Mediatonic partnered with Netflix for some Squid Game content. The Korean show has taken the world by storm much like Fall Guys did last year, with the discussion around its deadly games unlikely to die down anytime soon. With the game and the TV series sharing a similar premise, some Squid Game-inspired stages and outfits could make for an incredible Season of Fall Guys content.

The Potential For Squid Game Cosmetics In Fall Guys

While Fall Guys’ Seasons thus far have avoided taking on a theme centered around one specific property, Squid Game is worthy of a full Season of special attention. It is easy to picture a battle pass full of items based on the show, with an emote seeing the cute beans toss some Ddakji or a victory pose having a bean hold up the Squid Game piggy bank. Battle Pass cosmetics could feature Squid Game profile items and different-numbered jumpsuits like the ones worn by Squid Game participants. The tuxedos from episode eight could also feature, making for another memorable skin.

The more expensive Fall Guys cosmetics, which require players to spend crowns on each piece, could provide access to Soldiers and The Front Man. The iconic pink outfits worn by Soldiers would look great on a Fall Guys bean, as would some square, triangle, and circle face plates. The same can be said for The Front Man, with his unique black mask sure to help him stand out from any other Fall Guys skins that are in the game currently. With communities for other games already designing Squid Games skins, such as Overwatch’s Ana being made into a Soldier, these outfits would surely give gamers a reason to keep playing.

The Potential For Fall Guys Stages Based On Squid Game

The truly exciting thing about some hypothetical Squid Game content is not the costumes, however. Instead, Mediatonic could make several stages based on the games that are featured in the Netflix series. The titular Squid Game is an excellent example of something that would work well, as Fall Guys beans could die if they are pushed out of the game’s play space. With grabbing already being a mechanic, letting players push each other further during this stage would be all that is needed for it to work well.

Perhaps the most promising game concept is the terrifying version of Redlight, Greenlight that is played in Squid Game’s opening episode. Instead of the giant, killer doll that doubles as a motion detector, a massive Fall Guys bean could track players’ movement as they try to reach the finish line. Alongside some obstacles that force beans to slide and stumble, Fall Guys’ pushing would be at its peak here, as players could effectively kill each other if they want to play dirty. Moving slowly and carefully would be a different dynamic from the usual Fall Guys races, and it would be intense to see other players knocked out as the game progresses.

With Fall Guys’ Tip Toe also able to get a visual redesign to match the bridge from Squid Game’s seventh episode, the sky is the limit for such a crossover. While Squid Game’s violence would need to be toned down so that it is more fitting of Fall Guys’ E for everyone rating, there is still a ton of potential. While all the love that is currently being shown for Squid Game could lead to it getting its own video game one day, especially with Netflix’s plan to include gaming in its service, a crossover with Fall Guys would he perfect for the time being.
