Fall Guys has recently come back into the spotlight following its move to free-to-play and the game’s debut on other platforms. While there was some initial frustration with battle pass progression in Fall Guys, the community discussion has become a bit more positive as Mediatonic continues to make improvements. Many newcomers are flocking to the game, too, with big streamers bringing it some extra attention.

While Fall Guys is only just returning to the forefront of the internet, SpongeBob SquarePants is something that never left. One of the most beloved animated programs of all time, the series’ unique humor and charming characters has allowed it to live on through memes even as the show itself dipped in quality. With both SpongeBob and Fall Guys being colorful, quirky, and successful, a team-up could prove beneficial for both properties.

Fall Guys’ Love For Crossovers Opens The Door For SpongeBob Content

Everywhere gamers look, they can stumble upon a Fall Guys crossover. Mediatonic has worked with everything from Pusheen to PlayStation, as players can swap between adorable cat skins and characters like Sackboy. The Master Chief has appeared within the bean-focused battle royale, with the Doom Slayer also competing in the game show. Clearly, the sky is the limit for Fall Guys crossovers, and they could get increasingly ambitious given the success of parent company Epic Games in this area.

However, not only have there been plenty of Fall Guys crossovers, but SpongeBob content has recently appeared in some video games as well. While an appearance in Nickelodeon All-Stars was not much of a surprise given the SpongeBob series’ importance to the brand, the crossover with EA Sports’ Madden NFL franchise was much more unexpected. With Nickelodeon willing to put SpongeBob content into a Football game, it would surely be on board with some Fall Guys items if it becomes clear that gamers want them.

SpongeBob Content That Could Feature in Fall Guys

When it comes to potential SpongeBob content in Fall Guys, skins are the most obvious additions that could be made. Players could dress as the fan favorites like SpongeBob, Squidward, and Patrick if they purchased a bundle from the marketplace or grabbed one of the outfits individually. Someone like Plankton would fit the bean shape of the Fall Guys characters perfectly, and his one eye being a faceplate is something that could make for plenty of fun outfits. Mr. Krabs and Sandy are other possibilities, and one of them could be included within a seasonal event like Idol Games.

Alongside skins, SpongeBob emotes could prove to be a big hit. Mediatonic could create several memorable moments from the series, as the Fall Guys beans could interact with the Magic Conch or make an Anti-Sea Bear Circle. Players could play Squidward’s clarinet, struggle with the lid on a jar like Patrick, or blow a bubble that briefly spawns in SpongeBob’s friend Bubble Buddy. Dances based on the show could even play some songs that fans have come to love, like "Ripped My Pants" and "The F.U.N. Song."

Even SpongeBob SquarePants-themed Fall Guys stages would be a possibility, as it is easy to imagine Jellyfish Fields’ Jellyfish being obstacles to avoid. A Band Geeks-inspired Celebration could be made unlockable through a special event, while countless nicknames and banners could be added that pay tribute to the show. From a Gary backpack to SpongeBob’s squeaky boots, there are plenty of neat cosmetics that could be made available to Fall Guys fans if Nickelodeon and Mediatonic ever worked together. For now, all gamers can do is hope that such a pairing becomes a reality.

Fall Guys is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
