Fall Guys season 2 kicked off earlier today, bringing new goodies and stages along with it. The medieval-themed season of content will likely be seeing the addition of another gaming crossover, though, as Fall Guys has seen a Sonic the Hedgehog skin leaked online.

While the knight and wizard skins added to Fall Guys are certainly cute, Sonic may take the cake in terms of adorableness. Featuring the classic red boots worn by the speedster and his trademark blue fur, the look is spot on. A pair of big white gloves and spiky hair on the back of the bean’s head only completes the Sonic cosplay, with the new Fall Guys outfit looking pretty impressive.

While the leak including an image of the costume is pretty damning and almost guarantees the skin’s inclusion, the source for the leak only adds to the likelihood of Sonic joining Fall Guys. Reputable Fortnite leaker Hypex, known for leaking many of the battle royale’s Marvel skins as well as the upcoming Fortnite Halloween content, has been proven right many times in the past. With an image for the skin being posted along with the Tweet from Hypex, it seems all but guaranteed that gaming’s most well-known hedgehog will be arriving in season 2.

This is not the first time Fall Guys has seen a gaming crossover, as Mediatonic’s popular collection of party games has seen a few characters make cameos already. Early on, multiple Steam crossovers happened, with Gordon Freeman from Half Life joining Fall Guys along with the Scout from Team Fortress. Chell and P-Body of Portal fame made appearances as well, and Fall Guys even received a neat crossover with the indie game Gris.

Based on past skins and now the inclusion of Sonic, the door is clearly open for far more video game crossovers in Fall Guys. The game’s PS4 console exclusivity could possibly lead to many new skins based on PlayStation icons, but it remains to be seen if any crossovers happen with Sony-owned characters. At the very least, Fall Guys fans will be getting a Sonic the Hedgehog crossover, which is yet another win for the character in 2020. With big plans in store for Sonic’s 30th anniversary next year, the character does not seem to be going anywhere soon.

With the leaked skin still a good bit away, though, Fall Guys players can view the season 2 patch notes to get an idea of what content can be accessed right now. With a new battle pass, game mode, and costumes, there should be plenty to do until Sonic is seen speeding across Slime Climb.

Fall Guys is available now on PC and PlayStation 4.
