The Falcon and the Winter Soldier recently delivered its most shocking episode, just as it heads towards the show’s last couple of weeks before the MCU takes a brief break from Disney Plus. With so many bad guys out on the loose, a recent leak suggests the series’ fifth episode is set to be the longest so far, clocking at just over an hour of runtime.

In “The Whole World is Watching,” The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finally introduced its most powerful villain as John Walker showed viewers the MCU isn’t sheltered from police brutality, Baron Zemo made a run for freedom, and there’s still the matter of finding out who the Power Broker really is. All of this means there’s a ton to unpack prior to Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes moving on with the rest of their superhero lives.

Perhaps, for that reason, it really isn’t too surprising for Redditor "Plenty_Echina_545" to be leaking allegedly confirmed info that the still-untitled Episode 5 comes with a 61-minute runtime, which really pushes The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to the movie-like territory. However, the same Reddit post also mentions that Sam and Bucky will be heading to Louisiana, which makes perfect sense considering the Flag-Smashers are now targeting Sam’s sister in a road trip that can be seen in some of the show’s early previews.

Aside from Bucky potentially flirting with Sarah Wilson, showrunner Malcolm Spellman had already expressed his excitement for the series’ fifth episode, which is supposed to feature a cameo of sorts by an unknown “grounded character” with a strong personality he’d love to see paired up with some of Marvel’s more epic heroes. In the past few days, Marvel Studios also launched a Madripoor website that momentaneously contained some X-Men references, meaning The Falcon and the Winter Soldier could get a visit from the mutants’ world.

Of course, after brutally killing one of the Flag-Smashers, there’s plenty of expectation over what kind of disciplinary action John Walker’s Captain America might face, especially considering this kind of behavior is what gets him stripped of his title in the comics. Meanwhile, the new charming and dancing Baron Zemo will probably move to a background role while coming up with a scheme to get rid of this new super soldier that stands in the way of his ideological goals.

Nonetheless, all bets would point to episode five unraveling the Power Broker mystery, since the Madripoor crime boss and Sharon Carter’s relationship with him appear as the only plot setup yet to pay off. That and Sam Wilson eventually getting some shield-tossing practice in his Louisiana backyard.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now available on Disney Plus.
