There are only two WandaVision episodes left and after the miniseries takes a well-deserved bow, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will grab its Disney Plus streaming slot. While new The Falcon and the Winter Soldier set photos tease where the latter’s plot will be taking MCU fans, first impressions of the series are already making their way online.

So far, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been a bit of a mystery for Marvel fans considering the show aims to take two former sidekicks and turn them into the leading men for their own mainline story, while also bridging the gap between the end the Steve Rogers era and that of a new Captain America. This in turn makes The Falcon and the Winter Soldier the ideal superhero buddy cop series and it promises plenty of humor, according to the show’s stars.

With the impending release of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, some lucky critics, reporters, and industry insiders were treated to an exclusive look at a couple of scenes from the show. These individuals were treated to a total of 16 minutes from the Marvel Studios series that involve Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). Judging from this first wave of comments, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier delivers with tons of action, just like the trailer footage had suggested.

If there’s one thing that definitely stands out from these impressions, it's how most critics highlight a bloodier type of action than what MCU fans might be used to with the films. However, the overall levels of fast-paced sequences appear to match those seen in Marvel movies.

Though Wilson and Barnes are not seen working together in this sneak peek, they each seem to be quite busy before their eventual work meetup. The Falcon is out on the field on typical superhero missions, while the Winter Soldier is attending some much-needed therapy sessions that prove Marvel PTSD is indeed a thing, just like in WandaVision.

All these positive comments will go down well with Mackie, who confessed his hesitation towards The Falcon and the Winter Soldier mainly stemmed from being afraid the production values and action would be watered down when making the transition from film to television. From the looks of it, it’s quite the opposite as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier tries to echo those same Marvel vibes before sorting out who will be the next Captain America.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be available on Disney Plus starting March 19, 2021.
