The latest in a long line of Fairy Tail video games is currently being made for PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. It's just taking a little bit longer to develop than initially expected. In February Fairy Tail, an action RPG, was delayed from March to late June. Luckily, alongside the delay developer Gust plans to add some unique new content.

Speaking to Noisy Pixel regarding the delay, Fairy Tail producer Keisuke Kikuchi described what the extra time will mean for the game. The biggest addition being Unison Raids, which will be content exclusive to the game that isn't in the Fairy Tail manga. The new content is still being overseen by Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima.

Unison Raids, for those unfamiliar, are extremely powerful abilities that require two Mages to join their magics into a single attack. Only a few Unison Raids have been shared in the manga or in the anime. For a game with many playable characters, Unison Raids will hopefully be made for every possible pairing.

Other new additions being made to Fairy Tail due to the delay include improvements to the in-universe ranking system. This system is only loosely gone over in the manga, but will be a robust progression system in the game. There will also be a much larger range of Lacrima to equip, Lacrima being magical tools and artifacts. The Fairy Tail canon is being explored in a bunch of fun new ways.

Fairy Tail releases June 25 on PC and June 26 on PS4 and Switch.
