Rumors of a new Fable game first appeared a couple of years ago, when it was leaked that Forza Horizon studio Playground Games was working on Fable 4. Then at E3 2018, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer confirmed that Playground Games was working on an open world RPG, fueling speculation that the studio is indeed developing Fable 4 as rumored. Now all signs point to a Fable 4 announcement coming at E3 2019, with some new evidence supporting that theory.

As spotted by Reddit user snow9876, Microsoft's Mixer streaming service now has Fable 4 appearing in the search bar when players go to select what game they're streaming. It's possible that this means nothing, but it could also be a sign that Fable 4 will be announced at E3 2019 as has been predicted/leaked.

The most recent leak came from a NeoGAF poster claiming to be an industry insider. The poster supposedly leaked Microsoft's entire E3 2019 press conference, which included the announcement of a Fable reboot. They also claimed that the new Fable game wouldn't be coming to Xbox One, but rather, it will be making its way to the next-generation Xbox console instead.

If the Microsoft E3 2019 leak is to be believed, all fans will get of the next Fable at E3 is a cinematic teaser trailer. While this may be disappointing for some fans, it makes sense if the game is aiming for the next-generation Xbox and a 2021 release date as the leaker suggested.

While fans should take all of this information with a grain of salt and keep their expectations in check, there does seem to be enough evidence to conclude that a new Fable game is in development. Whether or not that new Fable follows the story of Fable 3 or if it is a reboot is up in the air, but hopefully we'll have answers come Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference in June.

Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference will take place on June 9 at 1:00pm PT.

Fable is rumored to be in development for the next-generation Xbox.
