Fable III Delayed for the PC, Hopefully Less Buggy Than Fable II

Fable III PC Delayed

PC Gamers will have to wait a little longer than expected to get their hands on the much anticipated Fable III. Even though earlier this year at E3, Peter Molyneux stated both the Xbox and PC versions of the game would be released together, unfortunately this will not be the case. Per a Microsoft statement, the PC version of this RPG will not be coming out on October 26 with the Xbox version.

Lionhead Studios has stated:

"The console and PC versions are now on different schedules as we're focusing on building experiences optimized for each platform. We aren't announcing a ship date for the PC sku at this time, but expect news soon."

No one likes to wait, but this is actually good news. Gamers want games to be good, even better than good. Most importantly in these hard financial times, players want games to be of  good value. I like that Lionhead Studios is going to take their time to make the PC version a better experience for that platform. Within reason, a little more time can go a long way to greatly improving the gameplay experience.

Lest we forget, Fable II had its issues. Peter Molynuex admitted that the game was buggy. Fable II had:

"...some terrible things about it. We rushed it at the end, where we had this terrible phase where we went from 'the world looks this beautiful with this many features' to being less beautiful and less features because we had so many bugs."

On the brighter side, a newly announced Fable III pre-order tool invites fans to design their own villager, with over 2,000 possibilities. This pre-order incentive includes a bonus quest and mucho gold. See Joey Victorio’s story here at Game Rant for more info.

So PC gamers, do you mind waiting a little longer for a better version of Fable III, or do you just want to play it as soon as possible?

Fable III launches in the U.S. on Oct. 26 for Xbox 360 and will be available in both Standard and Limited Collector’s Edition. The release date for the PC version is pending.
