We all knew that Fable III was going to have an online store, but free goodies for fans who buy the game in the first week is a nice way to introduce players into the system. There is so much buzz right now leading up to the release of Fable III, that you can’t help but get swept up in ‘Fable Fever’. With new trailers, mobile apps, and other news flying off the pages, it’s not hard to predict that tons of fans will be lining up to get their hands on the newest installment of Fable come October 26, but now we find out that these fans not only get the game but these free goodies too.
So what freebies can we expect? Well inside the box will be a card that provides:
- One flask of Raise Dead potion
- Slow Time Potion
- The Scot Male/Female Hero Outfit
- The Highlander Tattoo Set
- The Red Setter Skin for Your Dog
That is a lot of fun swag to get just for being a purchaser at launch, especially considering you've likely already preordered your copy. Other players will have access to the same items, but they will have to purchase the items instead (for an as of yet undetermined price).
I for one knew I would be buying this game the very moment I saw the opening cinematic, but I wasn’t planning on buying it at release... And I still don’t think I will. As cool as some of those items look, they just don’t make me want to fight the hordes of Fable fans, especially when you consider the fact that for a small (I am going to assume it’s small anyway) fee I can have the items too.
