Late Monday, August 24th, a representative for Ezra Miller provided a statement from the actor on their recent behavior and mental status. Originally reported in Variety, the statement refers to the slew of ongoing legal and behavioral issues with The Flash star in the last few years, the most recent of which was when Miller was charged with felony burglary related to an incident in Vermont in May.

Recent reports surrounding Miller have ranged from them traveling up and down the coast wearing body armor and carrying guns, to running an almost cult-like commune in an Airbnb in Iceland. With the actor's role as the titular character in The Flash a growing point of contention, reports have alluded to Warner Bros. Discovery weighing their options on the property.

In the statement provided to Variety by a representative for Miller, the actor has finally commented on their downward spiral and escalating behavior over the last several years. Miller also apologizes for their actions and affirms that they are seeking treatment for complex mental health issues. Along with recent reports surrounding burglary and alleged grooming, there are also reports dating back to 2020 from Miller's time in Hawaii where they were allegedly involved in several disorderly conduct offenses and assaults.

“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” Miller says. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

Not only is Miller the star of the upcoming solo project for The Flash, but they also play a pivotal role in the Harry Potter spinoff series Fantastic Beasts where they play Creedence Barebones. Both of these franchises are under Warner Bros. Discovery. As time has gone on and the reports regarding Miller's behavior have increased there has been a very public backlash regarding the studio's handling of the actor and their upcoming projects. A source close to the studio reportedly claims that the studio supports Miller's decision to seek treatment at this time. At the time of publication, there is no further information on the actor's condition other than that they are well and seeking professional help. Warner Bros. Discovery is still set to release The Flash on June 23rd, 2023.
