There are lots of different ways to control games and manipulate on-screen characters. While some methods and peripherals can introduce a unique experience, there are some gaming accessories which are quite odd. However, a new studio is creating a game which veers more towards the former rather than the latter.

Before Your Eyes is an adventure game from newcomer Goodbyeworld Games. It's described as a "personal tale of discovery" in which players will be led across the world by The Ferryman. What's interesting about this game is its unique control mechanics. Players will actually be able to control the game by blinking in front of their webcam. The game was the product of a 2014 prototype called Close Your Eyes which the developer has been working on since, and is being published by The Walking Dead's publishers, Skybound Games. The trailer below gives a brief overview of what the game will look and play like.

This is not the first time such an idea has been actualized. Recently, new technology was introduced which allowed players to control Minecraft with just their eyes. While sources don't say whether or not Before Your Eyes is being designed with disabled players in mind, it looks as though it could be a method of including those with disabilities.

Inclusivity is an important subject in the current climate, especially in the world of gaming. With such nonprofit organizations as AbleGamers being founded in 2004, which is something Ryan Reynolds endorsed back in August 2020, games such as Before Your Eyes could be counted amongst the many other titles and technologies that are paving the way for players with disabilities.

Before Your Eyes will be coming to PC on April 8th.
