Capcom has one of the most diverse upcoming release slates of any big gaming publisher right now, with horror games like Resident Evil 4 Remake on the way, expansions still releasing for Monster Hunter Rise, and Street Fighter 6 coming to reinvent the fighting game genre. On top of it all, Capcom is also developing and publishing its own take on a 4-player co-op survival game. Called Exoprimal, this title is also set to launch next year, and sees players fend off waves of mutated dinosaurs.

While it may not be the Dino Crisis reboot some fans were hoping for, Exoprimal looks like it may end up being one of the more unique AAA games of next year. Players will get to equip their own suit of mech armor, and customize it with a range of different gadgets and weaponry. Once they're dropped into a match, players will need to complete an evolving set of objectives, all while taking down hordes of dinos. While Capcom is still keeping most of its tricks up its sleeve, all of Exoprimal's currently released trailers show that the game is shaping up nicely.

Exoprimal Reveal Trailer

Dropped back in March of this year, this is the very first Exoprimal trailer that was released. Beginning with a little tongue-in-cheek joke with a weather forecast claiming that a dinosaur outbreak will occur soon, Exoprimal's first trailer carries that tone throughout, showing hordes of dinosaurs falling from the sky while an Exofighter suits up heroically. After briefly introducing the game's core characters, the trailer then goes on to showcase some of the Exofighters' flashy abilities. Each class is given its own time to shine, with a melee-focused Exofighter launching enemies into the air, while the heavy class activates its energy shield. The trailer ends with a general 2023 release window.

Exoprimal Gameplay Trailer

Released during the Capcom Showcase back in June 2022, this is Exoprimal's first gameplay trailer. This trailer goes through each of Exoprimal's game modes. First up is Dinosaur Cull, which seems to just be a hunting mode. VTOL Defense sees players protect a downed aircraft from waves of dinos. Data Key Security asks players to transport a payload across a map, and Energy Taker seems to be a PvP mode that puts teams of players against one another.

This trailer showcases even more of the Exofighters' different movesets, with elemental attacks, energy snipers, hammers, swords, and bows all being used by different player-characters. A few different dinosaur enemy variations are also showcased for the first time, including an impressively massive horde of Raptors, purple dinos that shoot projectiles, and some exploding dinosaurs. This trailer ends with Exoprimal's Leviathan AI character seemingly going rogue, hinting that it'll be the main antagonist of the game.

Exoprimal Dinosaur Introduction

This trailer highlights some of Exoprimal's biggest bads. The Velociraptor horde is shown off once again, hurling themselves relentlessly at the player. Pteranodons then surround the player in a twister-like formation. An Ankylosaurus spins itself around, smashing into players with its gigantic tail, a Triceratops charges the player head-on, and a T.Rex chews its way through an Exofighter's suit. The trailer also showcases different variations of Neosaurs, including exploding, flying, sniping, and summoner variants.

Exoprimal Story Trailer

About a month ago, Exoprimal's latest trailer released. This trailer fleshes out more of the game's story, which seems to revolve around the AI Leviathan trapping Exofighters in simulations known as War Games in an attempt to make the perfect Exosuit. The main crew needs to stop Leviathan and rescue their trapped teammate before Leviathan becomes too powerful to take down.

Exoprimal releases in 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
